Another New Car Thread ....

nice work sam  I have the DS2500s on the front of mine and they are brilliant i can t really compare as my previous pads were OEM on shot discs with a sticky caliper piston on one brake, non braided lines and crappy brake fluid. The only downside of the DS2500s they are dusty as hell.

Hi

Quick update - Visited Back On Track in guildford yesterday and must say was very very impressed with there work. They spent an hour sorting out the ride height as i didnt bother to set it up very well and then carried on with the GEO setup. I was quite dubious about this but its amazing how diffrent the car is to drive. The old setup was very much out after 4 years of driving and now the car actually feels like its hungry to corner. It feels as if the rear is a little more sensative but feels better now im not understeering everywhere ....

Very impressed and would reccomend them for work on most track cars :) - http://www.backontrackmotorsport.co.uk/

Small Update :

Had a problem with the washer pump and thought it had died a horrible death. After looking on VX220.Org i relised it was prob just full of muck and that a good old clean would sort it out. 30 minutes later and it was working perfectley

I have also just ordered some new bulbs for my sidelights as they dont match the HIDS. Evan tho i emailed the company 3 bloody times asking for the bayonet type fitting they still sent me push on DOH ! :p The two side engine mounts also arrived today which is something that go's on the turbo quite a lot, when i boot it hard in 1st and second it sounds as if the engine is going to fall out :p

Apart from that i seem to have also lost my reverse light, i thought it was going to be bulb and i ordered one but it appears to be the switch in the gearbox which i need to look at over the weekend.

Saturday is going to be a busy day ,,,, Pictures to follow .....

Car looks like it has eyebrows there.

I kinda like it

Lose the front plate tbh.

Hows it handle now compared to standard springs?

It's a relatively hard ride but it appears to handle well...mind you I was only in the passenger seat...certainly doesn't bodyroll like Howard's MX-5. :o

I can vouch for it feeling/sounding like the engine is going to come out when he boots it in 1st. :D

You sorted the intermittent problem with the HIDs?

I was driving around on a faulty shock before so its hard to comment on how it compares to a VX220 T with decent suspension but i find it alto better . It all feels alto sharper and how i expected it when i bought it !

Update :

Today i had the following jobs

Upgrade the sidelights to some LED white jobbys as before there was a mix of yellow and white and it looked pants

Fitted two engine mounts (left and right) as they had both broken

Cleaned out the airfilter + Box ( Pretty annoyed as it was meant to have been changed at plans under a 1000 miles ago, i dint think so ) and removed the trumpet so now there is allot more induction noise and you can hear the turbo a lot more :D

Cleaned up the gearbox reverse light switch as i had lost my reverse light

I unfortunately had to move to another property and this may sound silly but I'm having to use ramps to get it on and off the drive which is driving me nuts. I'm not going to sell it cheap so if it turns out that it does not sell i will just enjoy it next summer .....

prob an M3 just depends on if it sells or not. I dont think it will sell quickly at that price and in which case i might just keep it and get some more power out of it.

Gutted to hear your selling Sam, wanted to do a trackday with you and see how far behind the a would be ! Have you considered an s2k as a replacement ? I'd imagine a fair few owners would px with you

The a ? :p Im sure you will be able to be quicker than me in allmost anything, i have no real experiance of a proper track apart from 4 laps of the ring and some time in munchers at brunters ...

Im not lowering the price so i dont think it sell till the summer and then i will want to keep it. I really like the car and it is now running really well i may see if i can store it somewhere else nearby ....

Will see what happens watch this space ;)
