As per title.
I'm expecting a bonus from work for being here 20 years (you get less for murder nowadays lol)

Would like a new ~27" monitor, I have an Ilyama 1080p now. Would be running with a 1080ti GFX card

I'm a fairly casual gamer playing a bit of Borderlands 2, BF5, AC & ACC, and have recently started playing Titanfall 2 and have Prey lined up for after that.

Spec me up folks!

OK so I've had a chance to look myself now and come up with theseoptions (I'm going to have to add a bit to the budget to get what I want, I realise that £300 was asking a bit tight for what I would like.

How do these monitors fare?
I notice that curved seem to be cheaper than flat?

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,075.87 (includes shipping: £15.90)

Good morning Scotspaul.

I'm in a similar situation regarding upgrading my old pc monitor.
I run a Nvidea graphics card which apparently uses "G-sink" technology and not "Free-sink (AMD gpu cards)".
Although I hear that NVidea have either a driver update or a work around for using a freesink monitor.

I have a mid-range pc system and fear that most of my games/sims will not run that well in 4K resolutions...I do like the idea of "half-4k" as it seems you get better bang for buck and my eyes are impressed with just old bog standard full HD quality (1600x1200 resolution).
I am also tempted to go for a smart 40" 2 to 4 k TV instead as they cost the same as a 32" pc monitor...
I'm not sure either how this curved monitor pan out in picture quality etc.
G-sink1 G-sink 2 Free-sink No-sink, massive differences in costs for a multitude of different formats...Confusing.com

I am tempted to bring my mini PC into John Lewis etc and physically try out various displays in-store.

Not much help to your question but at least you got this thread bumped up :)

Nvidia also finally changed that no AdaptiveSync (called as FreeSync by AMD) bit in drivers, so you don't have to pay G-Sync tax for variable refresh rate.
With resources freed from development of Zen and money to increase R&D AMD is starting to bring new design graphics cards this year and Intel intends to join discrete GPU market next year.
So not much sense in closed proprietary standard monitors.
That Nvidia tax is also one of the reasons for high prices in many monitors.

Not much bigger in 27" 16:9 low screens.
27" is barely bigger in vertical size than 24" 16:10.

The lower the screen aspect ratio, the smaller it is for diagonal. (while needing more space from desk)

Myself having had 30" Dell U3014 for years display "development" seems pathetic, because 27" models would be such small...

With sizes of TVs having gone up so much, have to wonder why that 30" class is such neglected in monitors with little development.

A few of us have bought the Dell S2719DGF mentioned in this thread...
https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/wheres-the-qhd-144hz-smart-money-at.18844465/

Have to say, it's blown me away. Prices seem to range between £350-£400.
I got mine for £350.
Driving it with a 1070 on gsync compatibility mode and it's awesome. Colours for TN panel are jaw dropping, response is like the proverbial faeces off a shovel and 2k is super sharp.

Yeah I found this one last night and i is now my first choice (I didn't fancy the curved ones TBH)

Thanks for the recommendation!

I can't speak for any of the other monitors but I have this one as well; would strongly recommend it. The response and speed you get with the 1080ti is awesome and image quality and colours are surprisingly good.

Every monitor carries some sort of compromise. I have one of those 32" VA panels the OP linked on my desk right now and it's probably going back to the shop on the basis that the text isn't sharp enough and the panel uniformity isn't great. I also have an IPS Gsync on my desk and it has a little bit more glow than I would like. Whatever you choose, good luck with it.

how do you find the curve? is it noticeable if you aren't in the 'zone'

Spend a little more and get the LG 32GK850F. Flat 32" VA, pcmonitors call it one of if not the fastest VA panel.
Clouding and backlight bleed are pretty much non existent too.
I'd agree with the above that text isn't the most crisp, but at a normal sitting distance it looks fine.
1080Ti is perfect for pushing 1440p144 too

Looks great, but I've gone from getting a free £300 monitor to spending £150 in 10 posts....

That extra 5 inches looks great though... Said the Actress too the Bishop..

Edited for spelling..

Having experienced several curved VA panels, if you are at all picky about uniformity I wouldn't recommend them. All three units I tried (different models) all had varying amounts of backlight bleed and the panel structure showed on solid colours. The bleed has been said to look like the batman symbol, due to the curve...!

I didn't plan on increasing my budget either but am glad I did!

No but I'm really taken by the 32" LG panel recommended by @LadFromWales , it's either that one or the Dell S2719DGF.
My voucher hasn't turned up yet anyway so I still have time to consider options and maybe get out and see these at a store to get an idea what they are like, I only have the purple shirt brigade near me though,

32 inch V.A. was what I wanted, uncertainty over response times and lack of information about adaptive sync (every VA I wanted turned out to have issues) stopped me, did not have the patience to wait for fuller reviews/ info., but that will improve over- time.

My first impression of the Dell S2719DGF. was not good, set it up in dual screen with my existing I.P.S, the I.P.S looked light years better. Using the monitor rather than just glancing at the differences was a totally different experience.
If I had seen the S2719DGF. next to my old display in a store I would not have bought it. In my case that would have been a mistake.

More than happy, but a solid 32 inch non-curved V.A. that works with adaptive sync and has an acceptable response time, would have been good.

VA panels have very good response times everywhere but dark transitions. The LG is hugely better than every other VA I've tried in this respect.
But I'm having trouble winning at monitor roulette and am returning my third one. I may try another soon as I was very happy with its response times and colours, blacks.
