Hey guys!

I've been joining the teams and setting this up for a good portion of the fight. Now, firstly.

My CPU temps seem quite high for 100% usage, is this normal for folding data? This only happens when i give the pref's to have 100% usage.

Secondly, is SETI having issues at the moment with connection?

Depends what the ambient temps are, looks like the minimum temps for that CPU has been around 40+°C which is pretty high.

But yes folding/seti/distributed computing will push your hardware like nothing else you can run on it.

Oh how do you get sigs like htis
bs_msig.php

I tried going to teamocuk website but couldnt find anythong on it

Halz is the expert with these things but if you give me your boinc user name and what projects you do i will see what i can do:)

You can only have projects that the teamocuk site supports in your sig.

How does this look................

bs_msig.php

or this...............

bs_msig.php

if you look at the difference in the img text then you can probably make changes yourself just paste it into a browser window make a change and see what happens;)

Last update on the teamocuk server was 11th October thats why.

Problem with boincstats sigs are they are too big for the forum

Concerned with milkyway

I disabled CPU usage in all my projects via BOINC and want it to use GPU/CUDA only

CPZLX.png

Yet the milkyway process always wants to eat 50% of the cpu regardless... how do i fix or stop this?

Have no issues with the other projects. I usually run 2 skynet apps when im just browsing the net, so thats 25% cpu per. Which is fine, as i have plenty of room. Soon as milkway starts crunching, i get interface lag its horrible. Due to the CPU usage of the task.

Thanks

P.S Is my sig meant to be broke? :P

The milkyway thing is possibly due to an nvidia driver problem (as per this thread), although if you haven't updated any drivers recently then I'm not sure.

The sigs are broken because Berserker's recently had the OcUK stats site moved - which he hosts the sigs on - and Milkyway hasn't updated yet (thread). :)

MilkyWay should be up-to-date in a few hours (as should all the other projects). That's why sigs are appearing so slowly right now. :)

Seems to be it, frustrating to have my PC lag due to milkyway using CPU time that it's not been given access to. Might have to dig around nvidia forums for an update, or do you know of any?

Yeah my sig seems to be back now :p

Will hope on nvidia then

One last thing i have on my mind atm, Einstein@Home CUDA seems to be limited, it runs around 40-GFLOPS/s, so takes 30-40mins to complete 140k-GFLOP task. Now seti@home will run at around 350-GFLOPS/s, so it only takes 10mins or so to complete 180k-GFLOP task

Am I missing something?

Einstein CUDA tasks don't use 100% of the GPU - nowhere near, in fact. Even on my lowly GTS250 they only use ~30%.
