A nurse I know from Ballymoney (where I'm from) was killed in a car accident the other day. That is another accident around that area that has proven fatal. It's actually scary the amount of accidents around that town in the last few months. It's a small town (18k people or so) but the ratio of bad accidents : per head of population is really high...REALLY HIGH. Country roads aren't the same for driving on as motorway roads or main roads. RIP Nichola. :(

Sad news. Weird how you're blighted with accidents. I can remember 1 fatality where I live from several years ago and we have a population of about 100k.

People have no concept of risk, and seem to think jus because the national speed limit applied they should try to push their car to 60 on a road that are b grade at best.
I think more of a driving test, especially in Northern Ireland should be rural based, a good long run, as for the vats majority of the population they'll be on B roads and worse for half their driving lives.

I'm just up the coast from you OP and I know what you mean and as the poster above mentions - country roads listed as national speed limit (60mph) when in some instances shouldn't be much more than half that.
Even our motorways/dual carriageways in NI are in some places an absolute joke (and not in a funny ha ha way)

RIP to your friend.

Have a look at crashmap.co.uk to check out the actual number of Personal Injury Accidents (i.e. the police attended) if you are planning on going to your local council.

Standard of driving has free-fallen in my opinion.

Not a day goes by on my commute that I don't witness some God awful driving.
