Another PS4. 4K Noooooooooooo

I know it's an old article but i thought Sony already said it could output 4K video it will just need an update.

I'd take anything said before the console's release with a pinch of salt, personally.

If the current models can't do 4K then they could potentially add it to new models but I don't think it's anything to get excited about. 4K Blu-ray seems thin on the ground at the moment (are there even any 4K BDs and players out?) and it should be pretty clear to most people by now that these consoles aren't going to be producing any 4K games.

They wouldn't dare alienate their current ps4 userbase. By releasing a new model that supports 4k, while their old model, and users are left in the dark.

Edit: I'd be bloody furious if that happens and won't ever buy another Sony console.

If it can't be added-in via a software update then it'd be their only other option, it'll just be another feature added to a new model revision.

The vast majority of current owners won't be bothered anyway.

I don't know anything but I'm expecting it to be a revision that includes HDMI 2.0 or something. The current HDMI spec maxes out at 4K/24 frames per second. The new one will do 50/60 fps.

I agree it would cause a riot with PS4 users and they would loose way to many fans

Can I ask why people are getting so upset over this? When they said 4K I assumed it's for photos, would the PS4 be able to handle 4K video playback? If it can, how many of you here actually have 4K capable T.V's in the 1st place.

lol imagine watching 4K on youtube.

BUFFERING - 0.1 sec of video - BUFFERING - 0.1 sec of video - (hey look at this Advert in 4K that loads faster than the fastest internet connection) back to your 4K video BUFFERING - 0.1 sec of video LOL :D
