another Q6600 Overclocking question

i currently have:

Q6600(GO edition)
4x1Gb OCZ 1066 Reaper
Abit IP35 Pro XE
8800GT 512Mb
1Tb Samsung spinpoint
Hiper 880W Type M
Antec 900
AC FP7

over the past few weeks i have been desperately trying to get my Q6600 past the 3.0Ghz point on air however i have tried 8x400=3.2 and 9x366=3.3Ghz both with the CPU and CPU VTT voltage up to 1.5v, are there any settings which i should have upped instead as 1.5V seems a wee too extreme as idle temps are scary @50oC or so

and possibly post up some BIOS settings please

so far i can only stablise 7x 450 3.15ghz vcore 1.5075, vtt 1.27, nb 1.44 i took these off my frends setup who is running it at 3.6ghz with the 8x 450 any ideas what i should up next to increase stability???

right guys just a quick test i did but are there any temps or voltas here i should be worried about?

i used these settings

vcore 1.5775v
cpu vtt 1.31v
mch(NB) 1.48v

well this isnt really a brick wall its just that under load the cpu vcore is 1.47v which is fine i just dont know how to get the idle voltage down

do i drop the cpu vtt?

i have a case fan on the side of my antec 900 blowing constantly will that not ve sufficient for cooling? but i will probs do the screw trick and replace all the heatsink thermal paste with my AS5

one last question diggsy do you rate the scythe mugen 2 or asus triton 88 for a cpu cooler i was going to order a thermalright 120 true with scythe s flex or slipstream fan bt not in stock

seems like a good buy which has the same performance as thermalright with fan included and the price is cheaper

diggsy i got hte voltage thing sussed it didnt like 450fbs i duno why jus whgacked it back to 9x400 and the speed step has started to work now

anyways i have checked that the HSF i linked above is gna cost about 45£ you reckon i should save myself 3£ and get the non LED version lol with the boring black fan?

and also what about setting the RAM ration to 4:5? 1000mhz?

i have left the ram as it is and went back to 8x450 i didnt want to puish the voltage any higher on 9x400 but best to leave the ram @1:1 it unstables your overclock in most cases

just a quick update im running it at 9x390=3.51ghz seems very stabl given up on 3.6 cos my mobo dnt like 400fbs and i dont wana run it at 1.55v if speed step dnt work on 8x multiplier thanks for the help guys now im gonna buy a new HSF
