another raptor 150gb question

hi guys was just looking for advice here as im in the process of buying a western digital raptor 10000rpm 16mb 150 gb drive, moving from a maxtor 10 sata 160 gb drive, i manely play online gaming, will this help my p.c rig a lot?, specs amd 64 daul core 4800+, asus a8v deluxe mobo, HIS x1950 pro 512mb agp,etc Any advice etc would be aprecited, also could i use the maxtor for back up, and still have raptor performance?? i.e raid?

Wouldnt suggest RAID. Depends on RAID version, if you are going for RAID 0 then you would want two drives of the same model, e.g. two raptors, otherwise they would be operating at different speeds.

It would benefit you that much, but if you want it for performance then install the OS and games on the raptor and everything else on the maxtor. I think thats the right way...
