Always wanted to do my own ROG type build and now I finally can :)

The rig is almost done, Just need to neaten up the cables a bit more, 1 or 2 details here and there, A few cable combs and I'm done.

I took the SSD apart, Sanded down the metal shell, Painted it black, Baked it in the oven for just over an hour *This is a real thing :p* and once it cooled I put some Carbon Fiber Di-Noc on to it as well as the HDD.

**Sorry about the picture quality my camera isn't the best

Changed the white rings on the SP fans from white to a nice matt black, I did try red but they looked very out of place with the whole build -

Cable combs came in yesterday, Decided to go with transparent -

Installed an LED strip along the bottom under the mobo and under the right side of the mobo, No point installing at the top as it wouldn't be very visible and would clash with the white from the fans at the top and rear -

Have you tried the red rings on the sp fans? This and an af 140 at the rear would look good. Got a similar theme going except my cables are red white and black, more of a shinier braid though.

Yeah and the red rings on the SP's just looked completely out of place with the rest of the build and I already have an AF at the rear as you can see in the pics as well as 2 on top and 3 in the front ;)

The white from the AF fans contrasts the red and black nicely, If you start having all red it bleaches everything out and starts to look very cheap.

Ahh, forgot they done led versions of the af series. I use a mix of sp's and af's, mostly 120mm ones though as the sp's aren't available in 140mm which my case is fitted with as standard.

The only place I use SP's is on the push part of the H100i as I use AF's on the pull part, Linustechtips did an in depth test with quite a few variations and this one is the best fan configuration on the H100i.

Thanks I will have the same setup but I have red as I got the free red 120mm fans with my msi z97 cant wait lol looks mint

Will look forward to seeing pics mate :D

I did try red fans but then I replaced them all with the white AF's *apart from the 2 x SP's underneath the H100i * as for me anyway, White seems to do a nice job of highlighting the rig rather than washing it out with colour :)

very nice! any chance of you posting close ups of the SSD and HDD? looks quite interesting.
also I'm very jealous of your cpu!!! mine is at the exact opposite end of the spectrum haha. what are your temps like at this voltage?

Updated the OP with SSD and HDD pics and my idle temps usually range around 26'c-28'c sometimes spiking to 29'c while load temps range from 40's - 70's Celsius maximum depending on the situation :)

Can you show me the link to the braided fan cables you have?
Thanks.

Sure thing bud, Here is the single fan braided cable I used -

And here is the X3 cable I also used -

Great build looks great with the cable combs!
How do you change your start up screen and the windows theme once it's booted? is it a specific overlay program?

Thank you, The start up screen you change with a program called "Win7LogonBackgroundChanger" and the boot animation you change with "Win7BootUpdater", Both are free programs from the extensive windows modding community, No bloatware or any BS like that just a simple program to mod the animations and logon picture.

I've uploaded both programs to my MediaFire account incase you want to play around with them :)

The theme I bought from VirtualCustoms store for $3, Pretty sure you could get it for "Free" but I don't mind supporting artists, You can also get a plethora of themes from VirtualCustoms for free, Register on the site, It's free no money involved at all ever unless you want the premium themes which is just a way of supporting the artists :)
