Another school shooting in the US

I wonder what the NRA have to say about all of these mass shootings.

The part in the Second Amendment about "the right of the people to keep and bear arms" really needs to be removed.

It's an elementary school and at least 14 of the dead (27 confirmed) are children. Awful.

This will just keep happening, it has to stop.

What the, I'm sure I read this article earlier and it said that only one person had been killed and that was the gunman and that security had been increased across the area. Guess they reported it wrong?

Funny then how these mass killings occur far more in gun loving America than anywhere else though....

Country Guns per 100residents
United States 88.8
Serbia 58.2
Yemen 54.8
Switzerland 45.7
Cyprus 36.4
Saudi Arabia 35
Iraq 34.2
Finland 32
Uruguay 31.8
Sweden 31.6
Norway 31.3
France 31.2
Canada 30.8
Austria 30.4
Germany 30.3
Iceland 30.3

If guns are the issue, explain the lack of school shootings in these countries.

It seems like every month or so there seems to be a shooting somewhere in the US, be it a school, a cinema or a shopping mall.

The US government is just so impotent on this issue given the gun culture in the US that has existing for a long time (centuries). It's just completely embedded in the way of life. It's almost impossible to get rid of guns and so incidents like this will just keep on happening.

Wild speculation but from whats known about the school I'm guessing Asian male shooter with a child at the school.

eta: by asian I mean chinese/korean.

If guns (in a combination with US society) isn't the issue, explain how the country with the most guns also has the most school shootings?

It's actually very simple.

A combination of guns & gross wealth inequality along with poor provisions for mental illness is the main cause.

In short, don't give stupid miserable unhappy poor people guns.

It's much easier (And cheaper) to just remove the guns than it is to fix social problems.

Iraq is such a model...

Guns per 100 residents does not tell you anywhere near the full picture. Read up on why the Swiss have so many guns, for example.
