Current spec is in sig, i've done a lot of work on it recently and now my WEI is bugging me, i know it shouldn't but it does.

All my components are now at 5.9 except my processor that scores 5.7

I've wanted to go quad for a little while especialy as the prices are dropping and am comtemplating getting the q6600 or possibly if the price drops the q6700, i only want to run it at 3ghz.

option 1 buy q6600 now

option 2 buy q6700 when price drops (rumers that its coming soon)

option 3 stop being petty and be happy with what i've got and spend the £200 on something nice for the wife!

3 imo! Only don't spend it on the wife, stick it in the savings account . I doubt you'll currently notice a jot of difference going from a x2 @ 3 to a x4 @ 3.
