Going to put a 172 near the top of my list. Would really prefer the Focus though.

The Focus actually comes out a lot cheaper, the 172 pulls up silly quotes.

Sounds like the ST170 is your best bet for insurance and reasonable performance. Fuel economy isnt too bad either, but I would still seriously consider the 172.

Will you not struggle to get a ST170 for 5K, i briefly looked at them when i bought the Clio 182. The Clio 172 is a faster car than the ST170 and that's why the quotes will be higher.
