ok looking to replace my 1920x1080 22 inch monitor it's just too small for a 1920x1080

really want to go 24 inch 1920x1080

Must have at least 1XHDMI and 1XDVI-D
must also have a audio output socket (3.5mm jack) so i can plug the monitor directly into my 2.1 speakers when i'm using the 360 and the ps3

Budget £250 and it can't be samsung and needs to be of decent quality obviously not talking ips

You better have a very good reason for dismissing the largest, most successful and frankly one of the best producers of consumer computer monitors there is. Or I'm not helping you. :)

Yes because they suffer a serious problem via HDMi vs DVI-D

There is a whole thread on it around here somewhere i'll see if i can dig it up

That is only specific to certain models and it is by no means restricted to Samsung monitors either! Plenty of people use Samsung monitors with consoles and have no problems and I have used many Samsung monitors with HDMI and with no issues. I'm about to review the BenQ EW2420 which could be just the ticket. Unfortunately without going for IPS your best bets are Samsung monitors (the P2450 or B2430H) - there is no point spending any more money than that unless you plan to go for an IPS monitor (lack of HDMI on some of them being a key issue) or a larger monitor.

and which is the better out the 2 as there is only about £4 difference
I've been looking at those 2 models for over a week now and I think by in large they're essentially the same aside from aesthetics. Personally I prefer the squared look of the P2450H over the B2430H and it also has a less distracting LED power light (in my opinion).

I'll quote PCM2 if he doesn't mind:
There isn't an awful lot between them really. The colours on the B2430H are a bit better out of the box, but with a little tweaking of the P2450H you'll get a nice image. I mean neither of these are intended to be professional panels. The B2430H also has slightly better whites - but this is not really particularly noticeable unless you are scorching your eyes out with really high luminances (unless you're obsessive like me of course).

It would depend which you prefer the look of really. There are some minor differences in image quality - the B2430H having slightly better default colours and marginally cleaner whites for example. After you have set them up how you like they are apples and apples really.

Edit: Cracker has beaten me to it with my own words. How embarassing for me ;).

Given my other commitments I don't expect the review to be published until Guy Fawkes night, however the monitor itself should arrive today. The idea is to give some initial impressions (gaming experiences in particular) in the nearer future. It is currently available in limited quantities for around £160-£170.

i can't find it for sale anywhere

Where do you live? Would they let you actually test it in-store or is it just a warehouse?

just called them they are a supplier for trade and IT but said he's getting 19xBenQ EW2420 in on the 28th of october and i'm welcome to collect one for £170.

Unfortunately cannot test because it's a warehouse so to speak.

He seemed like an ok guy, he said he is the supplier for a lot of the computer shops in my area and if i go direct to him he can cut their prices, he also said he thinks they will retail around the £185 mark judging by the price he got them at
