Yeah i imagine online will be cheaper still but nothing better than driving 2 miles and picking one up and not having to worry about some carp courier smashing it to bits lol

Haha yeah.
If it's possible for you to inspect the model there at the warehouse, do so, just a quick look to see if you see any dead pixels or obvious back light bleed. It'd save you having to drive back and forth if you can swap for a good model.
Although saying that, if you haven't already, check out PCM2's initial impressions on the BenQ EW2420. You might want to hold off buying one, particularly if you play a lot of games.
