Are there any temp monitoring programs out there that will tell me the max temp my cpu has hit under stress testing?

I don't want to have to sit watching it while it's burning away and would like to come back to a nice screen telling me what happened.

Most monitoring programs will give you a Max temp reached reading, usually use a combo of coretemp and cpuid hwmonitor.

I had just been using the Asrock tuning utility that's bundled with my motherboard and had tried speedfan neither of which seem to record it.

I'll check out hwmonitor as well.

Coretemp and hwmonitor can give you the max temp, but they do not record if recording is what you are after. My asus board came with one, but I dont use it.

Sorry, I didn't mean recording. I just meant I wanted to be able to go away while it's running and come back to find a window on the screen showing me the max temp the processor has hit.
