Went to Bedford Autodrome on saturday, mega track and much quicker than Mallory park, my first one.

Got a vid to upload yet where you can hear a good long footpeg scrape around this corner, but this pic is awesome!!

Managed ~135mph down the straight, not bad for an old heavy 600!!

Also managed the knee down holy grail!! Both knees, some good wear off the sliders!

Mega fun day and I think im hooked! :p

And here's the vid..

Doing it right!

Nice pictures too, you'll look back at these in years to come and remember how awesome it was to get your knee down the first time.

Can't wait to see the vid. All this track day talk is getting me excited about my one at Snetterton 300 on the 2nd August. Hope the sunshine is still around by then!

Edit: Just noticed, 135mph down the straight. Naughty boy, you shouldn't be looking at your speedo, tape it up! :p

I was told they're addictive, didnt believe it at first but road riding just isn't the same now!!

Next one you'll be flying!!

:D

And bonus points in my book for tackling the track on an RF600. :) Too many people disregard the amount of fun you can have on a non less-than-3-year-old-top-end-sportsbike. Great pics too mate.

old bikes are great fun!

I did my first trackday on a race converted CBR600F2 and loved it.

Had no worries about putting the bike down the road because it was only £500 worth ;)

Pics there,

Not got round to buying them yet!

OP you look like your having great fun!!

Nice hanging off the bike as well!

good style marks :) the only track day I've done, at Croft a few years ago, I was sat dead upright, no knee down but scraped a toe-slider through Barcroft :)

How much was it at Bedford?

Similar to my first at Mallory!!

Bedford id £159 for the day, expensive really but a good fun track!

They are strict on noise though.

A couple from earlier in the year at Brands Hatch :)

Admittedly I was out of practice so body position is well off
Paddock hill takes a bit of getting used to, off camber downhill, but when you get it right it's awesome.

Not my favourite corner, clearways, but if you get it right you get fantastic drive onto the straight

I'd love to do more this year, but am out of holidays and spare cash this summer. Roll on next year, where hopefully I'll get to do another European TD :D

Did you ride brands before Clearway was resurfaced Wyvern? I hated clearways before it was resurfaced, such bad change in track condition when your opening the throttle wide!

Yup, Brands is the most local to me, done it 4 times now.

Even after resurfacing it's not the nicest of corners, people were still complainig about it being slippery.

Ouch - can't see myself affording another trackday for a while :(

I think Bedford is one of the more expensive tracks, Mallory for example is £90 for the day.

I looked at Brands but decided it was a bit too tricky for a noob on a track!! That first corner looks wrong in so many ways!!

Some nice pics being posted up :D

Brands is fine (as is any track really) for a novice. Just take it easy and don't push yourself too hard too soon and you'll be fine.

I did Brands as my 1st track day and I was ****, Paddock hill scared the bejesus out of me. I've got photos somewhere of myself virtually upright going through there, and it felt like I was cranked over.

Donington is another circuit with a corner that falls away from you (Craner Curves) but I'd say it's one of my favorite circuits.

Brands really isn't too bad, my first ever laps on a track were there when I did the rookie training day to get my race licence/bemsee membership :p

It's also really good fun, Paddock and Surtee's when you get to know them a bit are fantastic (especially Surtee's, I love that corner both on the indy and gp layouts :))

some very nice pics :)

Wyvern971, i like the knee protectors... do they go to an unhappy face the more they get worn down :p ??
