Might as well, seeing as the Z3 understeers all over the shop when wet and they're down to a few mm.
It's currenly on Michelin Pilot Sports, God knows how old they are.

Thankfully the fronts are only 225/45 17 so all the decent tyres are around €110-120.

The choices are Conti CS3, F1 Assym 2, P Zero, P7 Cinturaots or the Vreds.
It's also on Pilot Sports at the back, but those won't need changing for ages yet.

I'd like to hear some experience, because as it stands it's a toss-up between the CS3s (yes I know they're ancient) or the F1 Assym 2s.
 
If price is of no concern...Eagles...if it is, Vreds.

edit: I had a good experience with Vreds replacing Eagles on my ST220, so this Friday the Zed is going in for new discs, pads and front tyres and I've plumped for the Vreds. There was £20 difference between them and the CS3's but I've got a feeling the Vreds will last longer and offer little compromise in the performance department.

We will see.

Mytyres seems to have the Goodyears on special offer at the moment - £95.30
CS3s are £101 and Vreds are £95.
 
Oh tough one...I'm biased though :p

I have CS3's on mine, and the rears have 6mm left, so I'm keen to see how they wear. The fronts appear to have a similar wear rate to GDS3's... like cheese!! They probably had 4-5mm when I bought the car in April.

The Vred is a very capable tyre, as I said I think they'll perform in line with the CS3's but will probably have better wear rate. The Vred is as popular on the Z4/BMW forums amongst Z4M drivers, as it was on the Ford forums, amongst ST drivers.

I had CS3s on my Leon so I know they're good. It's just a shame they don't last very long. Having said that, I only do about 7k a year.

You reckon the new Eagles will last longer?
 
Fair enough. Went with the F1A2s in the end as they were £15 cheaper for the pair than the CS3s.
 
The F1s were marginally less expensive, so I went with them.
I think I would've tried the Vreds if I did more than my current mileage.
With 6-7k a year even the F1s should last around 2 years..
 
Lol got the Vreds on, turn in has improved as expected, due to the stiffer sidewall. But I need to wait for them the bed in, new front discs too, but I've got a 150 mile trip penned in for the w/e so that should help.
 
Wow. What a fantastic difference new tyres make! I was genuinely happy after driving off. Especially after finding someone that would change my tyres for a sensible amount.
It's shocking how many places wouldn't change my tyres because I had already bought them.

It doesn't tramline anymore either, which I hadn't thought about. Is this because of softer compounds perhaps?
