Another uni question thread, (sorry)

How hard is it to get 60% on a science degree, if I don't party that much?

Most people who are bright enough to get into university can get a 2:1 in their chosen subject if they apply themselves. Go to all your lectures, study in your spare time and be organised in your revision and you'll likely manage it.

That depends entirely on how good you are at Science really.

If you're not very good, it will be hard and require a lot of effort and study.

If you're naturally gifted you can probably be drunk during your exams and get 60%.

Does that mean you're aiming for a 2:1? If so then for most it will probably mean a fair bit of work but if you're either vaguely sensible about how you schedule things or just pretty good at the subject then there should still be plenty of time to party.

If you restrict your "partying" to once a week and actually study and learn you should do good.

But there are other factors to consider of course but I don't want to get into that myself.

"Science Degree"
What exactly is that supposed to mean, theres tonnes of sciences out there some vastly harder than others.

If you enjoy working itll be easy, if you dont then prepare to endure hell to get it done.

It won't be "easy" by any means, unless you're the second coming of Einstein or something!

Don't forget, getting 60% on a degree mark isn't the same as getting GCSE or A-level most of the time. If you get an assignment that asks for specific criteria, and you meet all of them, you won't get 100%, you'll likely get 70%.

Edit - Also, what degree?

BTW I'm serious.

friend of mine is doing chemistry. she worked resonably hard, attended all the lectures, did all the homework, and did a good amount of revision before her first year exams. i can remember which, but she's up for a 2:1 or a first if she caries on as she has this year

she was also out several nights a week, so dont thin you have to skip the partying to get good results

You can still have some fun whilst being successful at a degree. You'll gauge it yourself. Don't leave anything until you're confident with it.
