Another upgrade thread.

Ouch they are a bit pricey. I'd remove the link though, you can't link to competitors :)
Ring up OcUK tommorow and tell them the spec you want and see how much it'll cost for them to build it. I'm guessing shipping will be a lot less.

Chipps I've already asked them via Webnote :)

from what i have seen of their pre built systems they are of a very high standard so i am sure you will be pleased :)

you may want to remove the link to that price list as it may be seen as a competitor and against forum rules, but those are some very high prices and not a lot of choice :(

You mean this system?

Without VAT it's £730.06

And this one

Comes to £673.03

I was referring to the pre-built Intel Core i5 750 system from Gibraltar!!

Both systems are good for the price. The Intel system is faster.

Choose the one you like the most.

Edit!!

For the AMD system I would suggest the following RAM:

If you don't want symmetrical Crossfire with the Intel system get the following motherboard:

It still has SATA3 and USB3.

I've decided on the "Titan Xenomorph" Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz @ 4.00GHz DDR3 AVP Edition System with the 5770 card but I'm not sure about the 400W PSU, is it ok or should I get a higher one?.

Regards

I would not be paying nearly £700 for a PC with a Core i3 and an HD5770 since there is not even an OS included in that price. On top of this if there is an issue with the PC you would need to send it back to the UK anyway which is no better than buying the parts separately. The motherboard in the Core i3 computer can only do asymmetrical Crossfire anyway so I assume you are not interested in this now.

This means you could go for a cheaper PSU in any of the builds I listed as the power requirements will be less. Also you could drop the price of motherboards in both builds as Crossfire would not be needed either!!

I have adjusted the cost of both builds to remove the need for Crossfire ability.

Thx a bunch Cat for your suggestions I'm going for the AMD Phenom.

The case, HD & writer I'll buy them locally and it will save me around £40 on carriage :). Also which thermal compound should I go for?

Okay this are the final specs I'm going for,

It's not on the pic but I've added 4Gigs ram the intel ssd 40Gig one plus a 2.5 to 5.25 caddy. What about cables should I stick with the ones supplied or should I get better ones ?

the intel ssd comes with a 2.5 to 3.5 adaptor so you can stick it in a 3.5 bay.
just make sure you have enough sata cables as you will probably only get 2 with the motherboard.
that will be a nice build :)

Odin is not from Gibraltar he mostly hangs out under a bridge in La Linea with his fellow gitano trolls. This is of course whilst they dance the night away listening to "tengo una camisa negra"

PS - Enjoy the build and good luck convincing customs to not charge you import duty :D

I know a few of them only hope they are on duty ;)
