Afternoon,

Need to get all 4 tyres on my 2009 1.6 TDCi Ford Focus Zetec changed before it's service next month. The tyre size is 205/50/17. Just got a new job where my commute will be via train so the car will now be used very little, probably just to Tesco's and back every now and again! It currently runs on Continental ContactSport 2's but this seems a bit overkill and and to replace these with CS3's will cost me around £630. Been quoted £472 for 4x Goodyear NCT5's fitted, will this fit the bill or is this still overkill?

Thanks in advance.

Lot of money for a set of 4 tyres for a Focus. But IMO you cant skimp on the most important aspects of a safe car! And tyres are something not to go cheap on! But £472 for 4 is a lot! I'm sure I have seen decent ones online for around £65 per corner.

I will have a look!

It does seem a hell of a lot of money to spend on tyres for the car it is. I can only dream of £65 a corner! Thank you.

Where are you looking at those prices? Surely you can find them cheaper than that?

etyres / blackcircle / camskill - the tyre size seems to be a complete nightmare. Got the Goodyear quote from a local place that offered a discount because of where I work.

Maybe it's the width (205) thats a bit more uncommon, wouldn't 17's normally be wider than that?

I take it they are aftermarket wheels hence the funny size?

Premium Contacts were my first choice but arn't made in the size.

Not after market wheels, standard Zetec (+sport pack) wheels.

With my new job, the car isn't going to be doing more than 50 miles a week at stretch so wear isn't too important, think i'll go with the FK452's, big thanks to RSClio again.
