so im gonna treat my self to a 200GB sata2 drive... then realise for an extra 6 quid i can have 250 :| !

so 250GB it is !

choices ( based on priice )
250Gb SATA150 Seagate Barracuda 7200.8 (7200rpm 8Mb) - NCQ £52.95 £62.22

250GB SATA300 Samsung SpinPoint P SP2504C (7200rpm, 8MB) - NCQ £54.99 £64.61

250Gb SATA300 Seagate 7200.9 (7200rpm 8Mb) - NCQ £54.25 £63.74

250Gb SATA300 Western Digital WD2500JS Caviar SE (7200rpm,8Mb) - NCQ £55.89 £65.67

im thinking sound would be my highest concern... i ahve 2 IDE maxators in at the moment, and theyre more than what i would call silenty ( but may be like a 747 jet to some people) so anythign around that noise leverl will do !
suppose you could just ignore the prices, im looking for the best drive not the most expensive :)

cheers
Rick

:( hiatchi is way over buddet ... considdering 56 was my original budget lol
plus they dont have the hiatchis in stock !!

ive heard everywhere "seagates are more reliable, but slower", are we talking slower by a HDDphile standard? or like REALLY slower, so much that I would be able to notice the difference between them.
seagate is a good price though isnt it :)

how loud are the Seagates... remember aslong as its about the same as my twin maxators its fine ! lol :P

cheers mate !
