Just a quick question, Will the 360 controllers that are made by other companies also work on the pc as they are quite a bit cheaper and I am not sure if I can justify that much on a genuine 360 control pad.

Thanks in advance.

Not sure, but if you shop around, you can pick up a 360 controller for around £22. A cheapy copy will be around £12-15. The 360 controller is well made and works really well. I think you would regret buying a cheaper alternative.

:)

You can also pickup a 2nd hand wired one for dirt cheap.

I've got 2 and both cost me £12 each :D

Ok I will keep on looking to see if I can find a genuine 360 pad and cheaper. I have looked on the bay and the cheapest I could find was £20, where the cheaper options are half that price. Annoying as I only want it so I can play GRID and actually do a lap without hitting the wall!!

Also how many post's do you have to do to get into the Members Market?

Many thanks,

I know someone selling a brand new 360 pad for £17.99 in Jersey. I believe his local computer shop which is apparently the best in the world will price match if you need one straight away :)

If you look hard enough you can get a brand new wired for £17.. so a second hand wired will be £10 or less.

250 posts.

As for not crashing when playing GRiD, don't get your hopes up. :p

I will keep on looking to see if I can find one. So is it still hard to play with a controller then?

I think I know which shop you mean :D. Problem is I don't like waiting for delivery so I will keep looking round a few shops on the way home tonight, if not I will vist this well known shop.

Cheers,

I sold a wired one for £27 a few days after buying it for £24.99 :p the wonders of eBay!

Wireless is the way forward though, battery lasts absolutely ages and so much more freedom.

I had a wired madcats controller and that worked fine with grid :) since bought a crossfire and use wireless controller now but the madcat worked fine.

if your at your pc, get wired, it really doesnt make any difference at all.

and i got an official one for the reason your posting, i didnt know whether the cheaper one worked on my pc, i just bought it from a popular shop for £25, but i use it on quite a few games so wasnt really a big decision.

Wireless ones will not rumble though. Wired for me works perfectly got it off some Jersey fella' for around £17 - as said in this very thread it's one of the best purchases I've done in ages!

Where did you hear wireless ones will not rumble? mine rumbles perfectly in GRID and Windows vista games (Freecell etc)

Sure it was a limitation with the pad. Been in countless threads on these very boards in fact. I remember playing games like Test Drive Unlimited, etc. and the rumble wasn't working for wireless users but was fine for me.

They could, of course, updated the drivers, etc. to support it.

Thank you for the responces. If I get a unbranded cheaper one will I set it up the same way you would with the genuine one? Do they use the same drivers?

Thank you,
