Ant and Dec

It doesn't really matter if it's scripted. It's how it's delivered. Of course it's going to be scripted. You don't just create a show out of thin air.

To do live TV week in week out is a talent. That's why it's often the same people doing it.

I just don't understand your reasoning that their relationship is genuine when there is no spontaneity to those moments, its scripted to every letter - it's like saying two actors have good chemistry in a film.

I never mentioned inferiority, you did that all by yourself.

I was just offering my opinion on a couple of mundane brain drain TV presenters that seem to the host the sorts of shows I detest.

You called a TV an idiot box making out that I'm an idiot.

You're being trolled. Either RTM it or ignore m8.

I'm not trolling.
Fishing maybe but definitely not trolling.

Anyway, shut up the pair of you, I'm trying to watch football

Wut. The difference between actors with crap chemistry and actors with good chemistry is very noticeable.

Fantastic four: crap chemistry.
Avengers: great chemistry.

Yeah, but that has no bearing on their relationship off the set. That is simply the result of a good script and competent direction hence the comparison.

Are you suggesting Ant and Dec aren't friends outside of the TV shows?

How is there no spontaneity in live television? If you watched them back in the SMTV days you would have seen numerous times where they were spontaneous and funny. The way Dec handled phonecalls on Wonkey Donkey was absolutely genius.

I'm not going to suggest that because there is no evidence to support it. What I am suggesting is that their relationship on TV is very artificial, if they had that much chemistry away from the cameras then the producers shouldn't be afraid to let some of their banter be spontaneous instead of extremely rehearsed.

I very much disagree.

That's fine.

Except I'm talking about modern Ant&Dec before their explosion in popularity - you know when they were on every ITV program. You know what topic is mainly discussing.

I was going to make a post about their friendship and how not many people have a close friend like they do.
When Dec was single he would often get phone calls on the way back from a show and when he put the phone down it was Ant's wife asking him what he wanted to eat when they got back.

Ooh, they've just come on the idiot box in the front room, do I go and watch or stay this side and watch football?

You must watch quite a lot of their stuff to have this much of an opinion.

I dont watch em that often. But when I do see Saturday night Takeaway or I'm a Celebrity I do find them natural and amusing.

Watch rugby like a man.

You have no idea what is on the TV to the right of me, are the tissues a giveaway?
