It seems like my flat have been getting an attack of ants in the last week. Any suggestions what to do to battle it? I'm not sure where it came from but there seems to be a pretty big concentration of ants around the washing machine in the kitchen.
I also live in a ground floor flat so I wonder if they in some way got through the walls or an open window.
Never had a problem before with ants and I've lived here for about 4 years now.

My garden is FULL of ants, so I had a huge problem in the kitchen (washing machine) last year.

Bought some of these.

No ants this year at all. Just moths, loads and loads of moths :( Oh and mosquitoes.

I will have a look at that stuff. Should be able to get one in behind the washing machine. Do you know if there is anything similar that I can spread out? Like a long the bottom of the wall under the window in my room?

Not tried, these stops ant coming in. I put one at the door they were coming in and they just stopped after a week.

So I never bothered again.

I'll pop one behind the washing machine and then I will have a proper clean of the cup boards to see if I can find any other possible ways where they get in. I did order one set of those bait stations and some spray and liquid to use as well. Will keep you updated with how it goes.

I guess you want to put it in the garden or something, otherwise it will attract the ants indoors. Might as well lure them away from the problem area. Well, as long as it works, go for it!

As I'm not sure where they are coming from and there is quite a lot in the kitchen I will pop one behind the washing machine (where they mostly seem to be) and I will pop one in the garden outside the kitchen. Got options for those little creatures :P :D

One of these should suffice

You arent aloud to complain untill you have a ladybird infestation, sounds “nice” to have ladybirds everywhere untill you remember they stink when scared/killed and when you have thousands being scared/killed at the same time your house smells like ass.

You need to find where they're coming in and spray some insecticide on the spot, in my case theres a tiny gap in the window frame its not air tight and its enough for them to get in. A squirt later and its done for couple of months til it wears off. Sounds like they're coming in around the outlet pipe in your case.

Wasn't there a guy on here quite some years back who had an ant farm on his desk work or something? Or is the current warm spell causing my brain to make **** up?
