Ant Attack!

Well, there were dozens on the poison when I came in about 30 mins ago, now they have mostly gone. I have blocked the hole with some Blu tack and hopefully this will keep them at bay now.

You only need a few drops you don't need to empty the entire tube lol

A large public building I look after the ants come in from gaps around the old emergency exit doors and they were everywhere up to 50m from where they were coming in, in the waste bins especially they were after discarded food and anything sugary especially they were even in the toilets the mind boggles what they were up to in there. Had get in pest control in in the end. Funnily enough saw an ant I'd never seen before in another building was orange with white legs and larger than a regular ant lord knows what that was or why it was there maybe the termites they have in france are moving north...

Pfft. Ants aren't a problem.

The chiggers are back in my garden- i had a few bites last week. Those things are evil and normally a menace until mid September.

I love DEET

I have loads around my property. In my front lawn which gets loads of sun. In my block paving. Down the side of the house where the bricks meet the ground. Every time I move a plant pot there's about 50 underneath it.
I've put powders down but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

When I'm vacuuming the back patio I try and suck as many of the blighters up.

I'd stick expanding foam tube in the hole and fill it up. Might prevent them getting into your room at least.

edit: Gonna give those Terro traps a go for the ones down the side of the house.

Last summer, my parents’ shed was infested with ants that had eaten through the wooden floor. Unbelievable creatures.

This year the shed brought a further surprise: opened the door to a mass of greenery inside! The heat wave turned the shed into a greenhouse. No exaggeration, squirrels had stashed nearly a quarter bucket of acorns underneath the shed which was built on paving slabs! The acorns sprouted and broken through last year’s repair. I wish I’d taken pictures. We had to completely rebuild the shed’s foundations.

We cleared it out and set aside the acorns and subsequent rootball stash in a bucket, and sure enough, the squirrels returned to reclaim. We are being watched. :D

Had a few more ants today :( Put down more juice and murdered the few which were elsewhere in my room. Not sure where these ones are getting in. My Window is open all the time though, due to the heat.
