antec 1200, thoughts for future upgrades.

A mate is considering buying an antec 1200, and he plans to get one of the new nvidia cards when they are out.

Now recently ive seen a picture of the 5870X2, and it looks huge. Anyways it got me thinking, if thats anything to go by then the nvidia cards could easily be the same size, would they fit?

its already a fairly tight squeeze with the current high end cards.

its hard to say as i dont have the actual size of the 5870X2, im just guessing from the pic. what do you think? am i just being silly or might it be a bad idea to get this case at the moment?

Simple: The Antec 1200 will be perfectly fine for future upgrades, if cards exceed this case then we are all in trouble.

There is ample room as long as he takes out the attachment for the 2nd 120mm fan bracket on the middle HD cage

Hopefully ATI will mount the Power sockets on the top of the card ala 5870 as this will liekly make a massive difference too

Only you with cramped ATX depth cases.
Practically every E-ATX motherboard supporting case can house up to 33cm long cards.

pretty sure the 1200 is E-ATX too
