I have had a problem with my rig since I built it, random reboots left me searching for a solution for 2 months and no success, I had to give up and take it to a repair shop to be looked at by a technician as I have no parts to swap out to diagnose.

Turns out that my problem was with the wiring in the Antec 1200 case, the reset button was permanently grounded meaning that voltage drops, static build up or even touching the case would cause a reboot.

Solution was to disconnect the reset button from the motherboard and tape it up, now my system is 100% solid and no further issues.

I don't know if anyone else has, or is, experiencing this problem but I thought I would post this thread to save you some pain if you are.;)

<lightbulb moment>

Thanks Scallywagger.... that's been bugging me for ages. I've even had a replacement front panel (new connectors) which was a right PITA to fit, so it's good to know that.

Wish I'd tried something that simple. Definitely a d'Oh! moment.

no probs mate, the technician said there were issues with the Antec cases with this particular problem, he couldn't inspect all the wiring due to Antec riviting the case.
I knew I had big issues somewhere when I got reboots in the bios.
The fix cost me £30 but money well spent, I am only a little annoyed that I never sussed it myself as at some point I wondered about the Q connector on my motherboard (were the reset wiring goes to) but all I did was check the pins were not bent and it was seating properly, I wish I had taken the reset wire out to test and that would have saved me £30, so close.
