i want this case, overclockers said they might have stock of PC7+II case which is of the same specification as the Scandanavian edition.

i guess this case above is the scandanavian edition - hence the SE in the product title? ( Lian Li PC-7 SE-B II )

No - I'm afraid that one is WAAAAY out of your budget - it's an AquaComputer Ready2Go watercooled one. The Aquaero controller alone is the thick end of £100, plus the Bayres, plus the 120.2 RAD and the grille - you're looking at about £340 for that case as pictured.

SE stands for Second Edition and it basically means it has 2 120mm fans. The 'II' designation means it also has a side panel pre-drilled over the graphics cards so it will accept the Lian Li 'Patent Cooling Kit' which is basically a sideways fan. OcUK will not guarantee what you will get when you open the box, so if you need something particular then I would suggest you spend a couple of quid extra elsewhere where they will guarantee a particular specification.

great advice thanks

is that grill custom made at the top?

finding it difficult to find the Lian Li PC-7 II

so this will have 1x120mm intake and 1x120mm exhaust, and a 80mm blow hole at the top?

and this should give sufficiant cooling?

thanks

yer it should give gd cooling but the 80mm at top theres no fan u need to add one yourself

and grill on top is where the watercooling is and its not custom made

the eclipse is plain lookiing, and thats the only reason why i have not got one yet

unless it can be made to look better, as the front is bland
The Eclipse looks A LOT better in the flesh than on the web pics and it isn't the kind of flashy style you get fed up with after a week/month :)

my vote is going for the antec 900, i've got mine and i love it. big and spacious with enough space for up to 6 harddrives and 3 cd-drives. nice amount of clips around for cable tidying as i have found, but if you want to go serious cable tidy i can link you to a page where someone has done a few mods and made it look outrageously tidy. cooling is pretty good, has dropped my temps a good 10oc on cpu, case temps and gfx ram, another good 5oc off gfx core and northbridge. would highly recommend, though if psu cables are not long enough you may have problems connecting some of the motherboard power connectors.

hope this helped :)

hi pulse

i have seen the mod that the guy did to hide the cables

i am not willing to buy one and have to do that to it

granted the case is good for cooling, but is no good for cable management, which is important to me

i am struggling to find top of the range midi cases

can anyone point me in the direction of what they believe to the best midi case and where stocks it, does not matter on the price, just need one that is nice looking, has a side window (or i can pay extra for one), has good cooling, 1x 120mm front and rear and a blow hole at the top, if needed - if the case has good enough cooling without the blow hole at the top then so be it, able to hide cables etc

i am struggling to find a suitable case

the antec 900 has good cooling but is to cramped to hide any cables etc, without having to completly mod it, which is beyond me.

It's not custom, but the two 120mm holes underneath it it are. That Grill is £22+delivery in the UK, so it's still quite steep.

The stock cooling is more than ample for most peoples needs.

which case is this guys?

i like the idea of the side window being on the left, as thats perfect for my setup

and the side window is optional

woohoo

so it is opposite from the standard cases, as my side window is on the right

this case will be good for cooling an e6600, asus p5w system

well mate its not all that bad, i had the same thoughts as you when i saw the mod.. "im not going to completely break apart my whole new case for that!!.." but as i said i have found more then enough places to cable tidy

click here for examples of the areas where cable tidy is able to be done without mods :)

cheers for that

seems a hell of allot of effort tho..
nah, bout an hr or 2 of tidying bout the average for me.. temps dropped a few oc after that, but it really is a nice case despite some of the more negative reviews that it has recieved

check the link again for 3 newer pics, 2nd, 3rd and 4th ones up from the bottom.

i deffo need more room than that, its very cramped

cheers for the pics, but i will be giving the antec 900 a miss

the next case i get will have better cable management, obviously can't fault the cooling on the 900, but the small space and poor wiring management puts me off..

i am willing to pay £200 for the right midi case, maybe there is not such a thing, as it is down to personal preference.

but i need

cable management - or enough space to hide them
cooling - good enough to cool a high end system
build quality - need it to be decent build
look good - window is a plus
midi - must be a midi case

bonus - window is on the left handside of the case

Looking at Pulse's pictures, it does look really cramped, suprised he's using ribboned IDE cables  , use rounded IDE cables... gives better airflow and look much better.... not getting an Antec 900 is a good choice.... :D

Definately look at Thermaltakes Armor case, the new edition includes a 250mm side panel fan installed in a window.... ;) How's that for cooling...

can a mod please change the title of the topic

as i don't think it is accurate of relevent to how this thread is now

can you change it to

" Looking for the best midi case - ideas welcome"

please
