Antec 902 - overkill?

I am planning on buying the spec below soon from OCUK. All I might add is maybe 2 or 3 extra drives and maybe eventually one more GFX card.

Is this case way too big for what i'd need? Is the Antec 300 a better option? Looking for something with decent cable management where you can hide cables behind the mobo tray and also something with dust filters would be good. Is this 902 good enough or overkill?

I'd say get it, more than likely you would be disappointed if you got the 300 in the longer run.

Ok. I'm not interested in looks but if it is generally a better bet then I'm happy to spend the extra cash.

Yeah, looks didn't have anything to do with it, its not my taste personally but its bigger and more feature packed than the 300 so if you ever expanded etc you would be able to happily.

300 you would have to mod slightly to get all cables behind the mobo tray. thats the only thing i dont like about mine but i'll be modding soon enough

Excellent. Is it pretty good for keeping all the cables tidy behind the mobo tray? This will be my first proper build so want to get it nice and neat first time!

I really struggled putting my 902 together, My gfx card is long and made it difficult to fit the hard drives, actually killed an hard drive in the process, never mind though only had a tb of unbacked up data on it.

The rest of the build was fine and tidy.

I'll be sticking a 5850 in it and probably just one drive to begin with. Hopefully there are some nice illustrated guides online to help me get started! I'm sure it isn't that hard.

I am using a GTX 275 in mine (5850 = 9.5"), I removed the fan (which is not needed really) on the motherboard side of the HDD cage to fit it, with a bit of room to spare...

All in all its a nice case I reckon.

THe 902 is a great case - although I can see that the looks are not to everyone's taste.

Currently running three 5870s in mine on an Asus P6T - loads of space to work with. Have had an Asus P6T7 WS in there at one time - with 4x 4870 (its a folding-type thing..) and that was tight.

Whilst the 300 is a pretty good case, you'll soon regret you didn't buy the 902 - expecially if you start to fill it!
