Antec FLUX PRO case (lots of design/feature info in the post)

Not sure where to place this, but given I added some about the non-Pro version earlier last night, I'll just continue to add a minor thing or two here.

1. If you're using a Noctua D15 G2 cooler, this case will be able to support RAM that is up to 56mm in height in conjunction with this cooler. If your RAM is taller than 56mm, then you will need to use a different cooler (or get different RAM), as the D15 G2 fans will be right up against the glass panel with 56mm height RAM modules already, any more and you risk shattering the glass panel when putting it back into place and the fans and glass connect.

2. The case is very light and easy to build in, given the top and side panels can be removed. But note that the PSU can ONLY go into the PSU section via the right (rear) after having the right (solid) panel removed. You can not install the PSU via the left (front) side.

3. As mentioned previously, the Flux (non Pro) web page lists the max PSU length (with cables) to be 235mm. This is with the drive cage in place. Which if you don't need the drive cage, you can remove and then you'll have a larger area to install a longer PSU, or at least not worry about the extra space required by the cables as well on a slightly longer PSU. I was able to fit in the Seasonic Noctua Edition 1600W PSU so that should give you a fair idea of what it can fit in.

Just moved my existing PC to a Flux Pro.

I wanted to go back to water cooling and the Flux Pro is one of the few cases that can take a 420mm AIO. Might as well get the biggest cooler there is!!!

Excellent case!

The only minor criticism are the two fans on the base. They are not particularly good quality 120mm fans. Also, I really wonder why they only fitted two of them? I replaced them three Noctua 120mm fans, that I happened to have, so there is a fan under every cm of the graphic card. The effect they have on the graphics card is amazing. Even at 400rpm, the idle rate for the fans, they knock 10 degrees off the GPU temperature. That's pretty wow!

The other case fans are excellent. Surprisingly so. They are very comparable to noctua fans, albeit they are quite expensive if you need more.

One criticism is that there six fans and only five ports in the powered fan splitter! I don't think that is much of a problem since these days motherboards seem to have plenty of fan ports. I just used a different splitter.

I kept the PSU orientation as normal (not turned through 90 degrees). Because all the panels are removable, there is absolutely no issue accessing the PSU so I don't see the need to turn it round.

Yep, all in all an excellent case. Looks very refined too. It was a fun build. Next thing, I am going to replace the motherboard, CPU and RAM.

I also made a custom table that it fits under!! It stops my cats getting tangled in the cables at the back and also absorbs a lot of noise coming from the PC, without hampering air flow.

All in all a great fun little project that's worked out really nicely.

So pleased that you like the case, it is great and thanks for the feedback on the fans, we do take on board all feedback.

I am really impressed.

Playing games, the PC is so quiet and runs so cool. I thought my last PC case was cool but this is on a different level. I absolutely love it and it was a pleasure building with it, too.

One happy customer.

I'm very tempted by one of these (if they ever come back in stock) but the one thing that's concerning me is that while I plan on using an air cooled setup I do like to leave open the possibilities of going water-cooled. But from what I can tell the Flux Pro has limited radiator compatibility?

Disappointing but possibly not a deal breaker as, like I said, I do plan on using an air cooled setup.

I am puzzled by the radiator comment.

I bought the case very specifically because it was one of the few that could take a 420mm radiator. I was moving back from air cooling to water cooling and thought I might as well buy the biggest cooler I could get!!!! It will take a 420 on the top, front and a 360 in the base.

Yeah, this is what I saw on the product page. Disappointing.

No support for 480/560mm rads. I guess it really is intended more as an air cooled case than a watercooling case, which is fair it seems to do air cooling well.
Just a pity as I already have 2 480mm rads so 360/420mm support is of little use.

Ah I see. I didn't even know there were such big radiators.

By all accounts, the Flux Pro is a well designed but standard size case. I guess you need full tower for those sorts of radiators?

Yeah, the 7000D can fit a 480mm in the front apparently (I'd prefer in the top so you're not blowing warm air over everything but...) but it does seem cases these days are a bit limited in general when it comes to radiators. I guess watercooling is less popular now, hence why cases like this focus more on air cooling. I believe the Flux Pro and others do support 420mm rads, so there's a part of me that wonders if they couldn't have squeezed in another 60mm to do 480mm even if they couldn't do 560mm (in the same way I think some do 360mm but not 420mm).

I originally had the Corsair 900D which had room for a 480mm in the top and the bottom (hence buying 2 x 480mm radiators). But that was a slightly bigger case, in part as back then cases were still made to hold 5¼ optical drives and in the case of the 900D 6 x 3½" HDDs in the front.

possibly know what your CPU and GPU temperatures are?
Maybe someone could invent an on screen over lay that can be toggled on and off via a hot key.

Nvidia could even add it to their drivers, maybe alt+r could work

Someone should make a case that's actually a monitor stand

Does the Flux Pro have dust filters?
It relies on the panels being fine mesh. There is a large filter on the underside, but unless you place the fans directly on the lowest plate, air is going to be drawn in through the mesh side panels, so not all the air drawn in is through the filter anyway.

so even cases are going to have an app now?
Honestly, I didn't bother. I left the display blank, lol. I have way too many displays as it is. Apart from anything else, I had three devices internally that were using USB ports and I didn't have anything else to plug it in to. I was planning on buying a hub but just didn't bother.

Just got one of these today, I thought the wood looked naff in the reviews, but have since changed my desk and it happens to exactly match to my desk colour, so looks pretty good.

Unfortunately I can't use the ishift 90°PSU Mount because it comes with a standard C13 kettle connector (as you would expect) but the PSU I decided to buy comes with a C19 connector. Oh well.

I wouldn't worry. With all of the side panels off and the fans out, the access to the PSU is excellent. If ever there is a case that can get away without 90 degree shift then this is it.
