Guys me and this cooler just don't get on.....just did some testing to try and make it quieter.

What i did was take the antecs fans off and put just one scythe typhoon on to use with
fan controller leaving usb sensor off so no antec software involved.

Anyway as soon as i turned it back on this horrific ball bearing grinding noise
came from the thing on the cpu....relly bad noise.

So i have just spent the last 2 hours re attaching everything , re doing the paste and put antec fans back on and just the same. has it bust?

Irony being think from fan point of view took some noise off lol.

Definately sounds like the pump has gone. Obviously those temps are well too high. Most reviews put the Kuhler 620 only just behind the Corsair H70. I'd RMA it. I've had two Akasa Apache's on mine an it works great.

Doesn't matter about the box. Any will do as long as you have a reciept or even online order number. Could you try the cooler with another system (doesn't even need to be attached properely just to run the pump) or could connect it to a molex->3/4-pin header.

hey - attached to another PC and gradually the sound stopped to what I would expect.......took the plunge and re did everything one more time and had to re apply some third party paste arctic5 - and it seems back to normal - no more grinding anyway - phew!!!!tempted to try apache @Shadow boxer - even on silent could you notice less noise? ta!

There will always be a residual buzz that you will hear but in all honesty it's difficult to know whether it is normal. Mine in general use with my ear up to it with the side panel off is inaudible at the moment over the sound of the case fans/psu/gpu. I remember when I first installed it, there was a slight buzz coming from the pump but nothing that concerned me.

With two Akasa Apaches both at 100% I can't hear any buzzing. There is a gentle hum from the fans nothing else.

Still sounds like the pump has probably failed or something has become dislodged inside it. I would RMA it still.

....well it looks (touch wood) like this situation has "righted" it self. I saw a few posts from antec forums where a spokes person from the company commented on noisey RMA's. Often they recieve them and test them. They gently shake the pump and rotate the radiator 180's. THEN they leave them and more often than not they settle down. It happened to me, left it on over night and couldnt hear a THING this morning. Thought the system had shutdown. Tiny operational "whizz" with ear close to cooler with side case off. If I put the side back on its inaudible. Exactly what I was after.

Im gonna pick up some apaches today and very carefully get them attached to the radiator. I just worry coz it was fan swapping that started this whole debacle....thanks for the advice on persevering with it - could have easily thrown the towel in.....!!

It doesn't sound like there built with high standards. I wouldn't expect the solution to something like this. "Give it a bash and leave it for a bit." It's like banging an old TV to stop the picture shaking.

I think I'll be avoiding Antec Kuhlers for a while. Corsair here we come :)
