Antec P180 side panel window.

I will be working on one for myself this week, using an old coolermaster side panel window (in blue).

Results will be posted... Should really post a worklog of everything I am doing to this case... Quite a few little custom jobs done now ;)

the middle layer of panel in the P180 is actually fairly solid, Ive cut a window in one and using a normal metal cutting jigsaw blade on a medium speed will be okay.

the P180 is designed for silence, but IMO, and also a lot of others, its also a fine looking case.

In any effect, if you cut a window it wont reduce the sound deading qualities by that much seeing as the window you cut will only be small due to the internal layout of the case.

I agree, Antec could at least offer an optional side window, as they did with the P160 etc. I'd imagine they'd sell reasonably well.

Kind of defeats the point of the the P180. ie. sound proofing baffles

I'm pretty sure that perspex is a better sound insulator that single skin alu/steel, not sure how much better the triple layer P180 sides are.

the triple layers are alu/plastic/alu...

designed speciafically for sound insulation mate, but tbh in terms of this thread, and cutting a side window in, you wont really notice much difference at all.

Thought Id post this up in here...

Me and a friend have been working on his P180 for a while now, due to my project being on hold; and we've done the mod that is being discussed in here, check it:

Im not going to clutter this thread up with more pictures, but you CAN see pics of the whole mod HERE
