Antec Sonata II opinions please

I can't comment on a 1900xt as im a Nvidia fanboy :p

My rig currently is:

X2 4400 (2.6/2.6)
Corsair XMS 3200 CPT cas2 3200 2gb 2-4-4-8
Gigabyte K8N Pro SLI
BFG 7800gt oc, overclocked a bit more.
74gb Raptor
205gb Caviar 16mb cache ncq jobbie
Audigy 2zs
Seasonic 600w
Lian Li v1000+ with TR3-a
Zalman Reserator 1+

Think that covers the core system, using akasa amber fans.

The PC7 has 2x 120mm fans included, and you can add later a fan at the top for the blowhole if you need to. :)

Black or Silver case lol?
And I was thinking of changing the PSU for the Tagan TG530-U15 530W ATX2.01 Easycon SLi Compliant Modular Silent PSU its a couple of pounds cheaper aswell, plus its modular.
Anyway what you think!

Everything looks great from that spec. You may want to consider the Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe Crossfire motherboard it is the on the same price in case you want to boost your graphics performance in the future ;)

I won't ever go crossfire, saying that who knows. And the nForce4 chipset seems very nice.
Would it make any difference to the performance at the moment?

Nope not at all really.

Silver case ;)

The tagan is a great PSU, the modular could be handy.

I just don't need modular, so I do not buy it. But it should be up to the job quite easily :)

I need to find out if its easy to clock the X1900XT the brand I mentioned, to XT-X speeds.
And that at those speeds plus the X2 3800 at 4800 speeds, thats going to be one beastly machine.

Aim for 4400 speed, anything over that consider it a bonus. If its your first overclock do it slowly and take your time. :)

Post in the graphics card section and ask, as you can imagine case central is not the #1 place to post about graphics cards :D

Although I do try sometimes :p

I already made a topic in there but it was asking a different question, can't make another one or it will look well spammy, so I guess I got to wait untill someone notices the last post and answers me lol.

I will *ehm* help it on a bit. ;)

Give me a minute and I will reply, if you don't get a answer let me know and I will post, im curious now so I better get a answer, I would put;

"OI! Graphics card people, answer this!!!"

As the thread title, would get the reply then :p

I will do a quick search and try and get some discussion going for you; my post will probably be wrong so unless everyone agree's ill be wrong :p

Yewen on the Lian Li case you know the two USB ports at the front, well I got the PC6 version of that case now the one I always complain about, well anyway I could never work out how to attach the two USB ports to the motherboard so that they would actually work.
I hope thats not the same in the PC7, I don't want them damn cables lose in the case this time, I want them to work.

It is just a plug, which you plug onto a port on the motherboard :)

The motherboard manual will explain all :)

It is a problem with the motherboard, not the case, if they are not supported as it is a VERY common feature now.

No man, not on this case, its like a plug yes but all the wires are split, so I got no clue which is which, its hard to explain, but there all split into individual wires, its ridiculous, and I don't want this in the new machine.

There should be something like USB 1 header on your motherboard, only need either the little pins OR the big block.

Lian Li just do that to add compatability for more motherboards :)

If you have your motherboard manual handy, they match up to the USB header ports on it.

The new one should be easier :)

Just so you know!

-Im going to bed now, a 23 hour day is starting to hit me, after three hours sleep last night, think I will see everyone on sunday when I wake up :o

No worries, someone just buzzed me on msn asking about a case; sorry to whoever it was but I am signing off everything!

Yeh, OcUK will no doubt wake me up :p
