Looking at getting the above case as at the moment im using an Asus barebone system.

Is it any good? More to the point is the 450w smartpower PSU any good thats in it? Its to power the rig in my sig, and later a Core 2 Duo system

I've had my Sonata II for just over a year now and I still really like it, head over to Yewens web site if you want to read my full review. The power supply is good quality and quiet, it certainly won't struggle with the rig in your sig and should be fine for your core 2 setup provided you not planning on 7 HD's and 4 Optical drives!

its a good case with a surprising amount of added features, the psu is good also. i like it a lot, good for the money

I'm looking at purchasing this.. Only downside is I have 2 optical drives, ones a fairly recent Pioneer 111D and the others an older Lite-On LDW-851S

Both Beige coloured :(

Is there a site somewhere I can find faceplates for these things? I'm enjoying the idea of a quiet cool case as this is but perhaps I need one which has flaps to cover the actual cd fronts colour?

Advice needed... If there is a site or somewhere I can get the black replacements for these drives then quids in and I'll order today!

Much thanks

JP

the front of the case has a door, so when you close this you wont be able to see em, only when your using the drives or have the door open will you be able to see the beige.

Yeah I did notice that one after! :)

Erm, I guess I'll just make do with the aweful beige drives... If am really that fussy, I guess I'll just buy new optical drives....

Annoying that the suppliers dont release all the faceplates out there. I'm sure someone could make a quick buck just selling these for the case modders out there!

Thanks for the reply mate.

good case (very good case), has a few cooling issues, but they can be overcome, hate the PSU but thats from personal experience, but there's no doubt it will power what you want (until it goes boobies up)

Imo, a good case for a build on a seriously tight budget, when you want both a capable PSU and case for low cost.

Otherwise, i think the general trend on this forum is to go for the Akasa Zen (low budget), or the PC7+ (mid range).

Had my Sonata II a while now and I really like it. Its easy to fit all the drives etc. It would be nice to have some sort of switch on the outside for the fan as the speed selector switch is inside. Also the blue lights on the front can be pretty bright, although you can unplug them.

On the downside the PSU packed up on me a few months ago. I don't know why but it did take my MB out at the same time!
