Hello,

I'm considering getting an Antec Titan for my next case because I like the look of all the space inside which I reckon will allow all kinds of additions and modifications, and all the space will help with cooling. It also seems very well built so should last for years.

I just wondered if anyone has a Titan and how good they are?

Thanks ;)

I used to have one, great cases - solid as a rock :) My mate has it now as I have far too many! The reviews say that the front looks tacky and plastic but I don't think so when you see it in the "flesh" so to speak

Titan is great, especially if you're into modding. The only thing I don't like about it was that it's all rivetted inside. I managed to take out a couple of rivets, cut a small piece of metal and voila I have a removable motherboard tray.

I've spent the last 3 or 4 months with my PC out of the case though as my original spray painting went badly wrong, got impatient and sprayed too much on which made it wrinkle, had to scrape and sand the entire lot off and redo it. Just got it resprayed now that I've got some time again. I've taken the plastic front off and I'm going to replace it with my own perspex and wire mesh jobby. I've also cut a hole in the base for a 120mm fan pointing upwards.

And I guess my main mod that I forgot about was cutting out a window for it. Have a look at my threads:

The original cutting of the window:

And the new and improved window with spray painting and 120mm fan at the bottom:

You can see the motherboard tray removed and also the front panel has been moved up to the top of the case for easier use when it's to the side of my desk.

Also an idea I'm having of installing an xbox inside the case. It's the perfect width for it. I'll probably get my current plans finished before I look into that though as if I start on that I'll never get my PC back into it.

EDIT: You can also see where I got a 120mm fan to fit in the front at the hdd bay. This works so long as you only need room for 2 or 3 drives. Also the spray painting you see in the thread is the old one, you can see why I had to redo it :)

Yes Darg, it arrived yesterday

It looks good but unfortuately I won't have time to put together my system until next week.

One thing which does surprise me is how long the case is. Could this cause problems with IDE/SATA/floppy cables not being long enough? The IDE cables I have are 60cm, SATA are 50cm and I think the floppy cable is only 45cm.

The floppy cable might be a problem. Other cables shouldn't be. There really isn't that much distance between the IDE ports on the motherboard and drives once you have them installed. The drives sit quite far back towards the motherboard.

I haven't tried using a floppy drive in it yet. I would have quite a lot of trouble I would guess as the floppy port on my mobo is right at the bottom which would exaggerate the problem even more. If it's to the right hand side of your motherboard you should be fine. Which board are you using?

Thanks for your help Darg, much appreciated.

I have exactly the same problem as you. The floppy port on my motherboard is at the bottom edge :(

I'll either have to leave out the floppy drive and use an external or get a longer cable. I had a quick browse and the longest I can find is 60cm so maybe even that won't be long enough
