Anti-Universe Theory

I've never understood how space and time can be "bent" such as at the edge of a black hole. And how does light get "swallowed up" into one?

Photons have a mass and are thus influenced by the rules of mavity. Black holes having such a large gravitational field strength will atract photons with such force that the photos will be pulled off thier trajectoy into an unescapable one way journey into the singularity point.

Well, the biggest problem with those of you wishing to visit a black hole is the way mavity works around them.

The closer you get to it, the more mavity pulls on you (so you legs are being pulled more than your head if you going over the event horizon legs first), meaning you get Sttrreeettcccheedd into a nice long line of matter thats continually getting stretched till it eventually reaches the point of singularity.

You probably wont survive this ;)

Photons don't have any rest mass

Photons travel in straight lines through space

Incredibly massive objects (large gravitational fields) though bend space around them.

So think of drawing a straight line on a piece of paper, then you bend the piece of paper... it is still a straight line, but the paper is bent to make the line appear bent. Gravitional Lensing is an example of this phenomenon.

RIMMER: A _white_ hole?
KRYTEN: Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. A black hole
sucks time and matter out of the universe: a white hole returns it.
LISTER: So, that thing's spewing time back into the universe? (He dons
his fur-lined hat.)
KRYTEN: Precisely. That's why we're experiencing these curious time
phenomena on board.

Hmm... Landfills over flowing... Large amounts of radioactive materials under water... Surely because there is no resistences in space we could fire all the crap off at a super slow speed and it'd reach the black hole eventually? :p

If the magnetic field ever fails at LHC at the precise moment a mico black hole is created everything we've messed up will be gobbled up in an instant.

Granted, its quite unlikely - but possible all the same.

Yes, that's how the inifinite improbability drive works. I must go and read up on mavity and relativity before I comment further.
