Hi,

Been using AVG free edition for years, but v8 is annoying me as its leeched itsself into my web browser.

Think its time for a decent paid anti-virus solution. I have a hardware firewall in my netgear router so think im fine there & also use search and destroy.

My Os is vista 64 bit.

Avast has served me well for over 18 months.
I game, I like Porn & I frequent Many Dodgey sites but still I am Alive & Well.

Nod32 = English Pounds.
Avast = Freedom.

Conclusion = Avast = Winrar.

^^
exactly if you buy an AV you either have money to waste or have unreasonable fear of viruses.

AVG, Avast, ANtivir are all great, free and will serve anyone with a bit of computer sense.

If you insist on wasting money then nod32 is considered to be the daddy.

im using avira premium for the 6 months trial but everyone always says nod32 is the daddy yet it always gets beat in reviews by kaspersky and bitdefender so it cant really be the daddy,IMO

I can recommend Avast - never had any problems with it, install it whenever I repair someone's PC.

What I can never fathom is why PC enthuasts need NOD or other similarly powerful antivirus, an enthuast should be able to spot ***** before it strikes. I can understand from a resources point of view if it is significantly lighter. It seems to me as the people who really would benefit from NOD etc, have never heard of it and plump for poor solutions like Norton. Which is of course a shame.
