Yesterday during the day in the middle of the town i live in there was an anti war protest. 20-30 people turned up to 'hijack' the brittish legions good work.

They gave loads of hassle to the ACF (army cadet force) cadets that showed up to sell poppies. They argued that it wasnt against the work of the brittish legion but continued to give lots of hassle to the ACF and veterans who were doing a really honourable task.

Im not alone in thinking what they were doing was preety disgusting am I? Ive just had a massive rant about it to some random people who didnt seem to really care.

(nothing agaisnt anti war protest usually but just the timing of this one).

Pathetic. There is a time and place for protesting. To attack those who are paying their respects for the fallen is disgusting.

They did it in Exeter too this lunchtime, however it was a "peaceful" protest and involved them all standing in a bunch and not moving or saying anything.

Must have been pretty distracting for the British Legion. They have so many other days they can do this - why ruin someone else's day?

I was tempted to stop and do a big dump right in front of them :D

A) it shouldn't be done at a remembrance event
B) what do they think we should do? Pull out and let insurgents and others take over?
