As title, I'm looking at some of this kit and think it's pretty impressive, if not a huge gimmick..

Am I right in thinking I need the Lights, and the bridge. Then on the PC get a Hue App to sync it with what's displayed on my screen?

Am I right in thinking it's limited and can't be used with Netflix in this manor?

Any advice or thoughts from people that have or have used it would be great!

My pc is up to my TV for gaming only really

Correct, you need the lights of course and the bridge.

On the main philips Hue App you set up entertainment zones, this will correspond with the lights you setup around your screen. You then download the Hue Sync App on your PC. Select the entertainment zone and start sync. Pretty straight forward really and lights sync fine with that's on screen.

Correct, Netflix and Amazon do not sync, or at least for me with just the Sync App, apparently it can: https://www.philips-hue.com/en-us/explore-hue/blog/connect-hue-sync-with-netflix but never has as mentioned for me. I get the following message in the Hue Sync App like here when I try with netflix in background. All the lighting just goes black.

It is fun for a bit, however will quickly get bored of it IMO, kind of expensive and would not have gone into it solely for the dynamic aspect IMO, but have Hue through whole house anyways so use it to add static bias lighting. But my two cents :)

Thanks for the advice.

Yeah I can see the sync feature being a bit of a gimmick but also wouldn't mind getting a few static bulbs and use it static for normal TV use. I can see it can become a bit of a rabbit hole though

There is a PC app for it, I tried it once but yeah don't really like it.

I do like RGB lighting, especially when Im watching a horror movie at night but not flashing different colors every 2 seconds
