I'm in a similar position. I love the idea of creating something and writing is the only thing that I've ever considered myself to be good at (this might not be evident from the quality of my postsAlways been a dream of mine to write a novel, it's just the actual writing bit that is a problem. My erratic and all-over-the-place narrative style would play hell on potential readers. Personally I feel I have enough of a vocabulary to do this, but making it read comfortable without coming across as having swallowed a Thesaurus is an immense challenge.
I am able to write any story to completion .. and then throw it away because it's so pale in comparison with authors like Bryson, Brown, King and Grisham.
My utmost respect to people that can do this. Really.
