Any Be* or O2 users getting disconnected from PSN in evenings?

I have not had any issues with Be for months, but now I find my PSN is signing out in evenings. I know enough about my network and equipment etc to isolate it to be ISP end imo. Just need to see/prove other users are having this.

As soon as it gives me message saying "you have been signed out yada yada" I can normally sign straight back in.

First I thought it was the DNS servers, then I thought congestion. Changing DNS servers works (I think) but I ain't got time to sit connected all day long to verify!!

So please post here if you are with Be or O2 and getting disconnected from PSN, and indeed if you have fixed the problem etc.

Unless you have a PS3 and are on one of the above ISPs at the moment, please don't reply to this thread.

I think I am getting a lot of packet loss, I am doing some tests to see where the problem lies. My end or Be. Could be congestion but my Exchange was upgraded this morning and I have not noticed a difference.

I am with Be, i had problems until i switched to OpenDNS (by your recommendation iirc), since then no problems at all.

Sadly it's not a DNS issue for me (1st thing I checked!!)

ping times and responses to sites services have dropped dramatically in last few weeks, but only bad enough to affect connectivity to sites and services in the last week.

Doing some checks today to try and isolate/fix the problem.

Thanks for everyone's input into this thread btw (was gonna post in networks section, but felt this was gaming specific at the time, which it turns out not to be!!)

Have you contacted BE? Ive always found them very helpful, and respond to my question within a hour or so...

Yes, they seem clueless with regards to PS3 connectivity, suggesting irrelevant/incorrect advice. Hence, why I turned to the smart arses here instead :)

Did this sort itself rp? I've just gone back through my email to find the relevant one. Apparently the 'transit links' were being worked on, which should have been finished on the 17th, and there were upgrades to Marylebone, Norbury, Kidbrooke, Guildford, Newington and Dunfermline exchanges (amongst others, but those are the ones that the email notes).

It also says that potential disruption could continue up to the end of this (last) week, so hopefully all is resolved and well now!

No, still terrible packet loss for me. Doing more tests this weekend, swapping routers, settings, wiring etc etc.

How have you got on now with you PS3 ?

mine now drops off after about 30-60mins of play then i can't rejoin because i get the "you have been kicked message" on GTA

tried open dns and that mad no difference, using a netgear DG834GT v3 with the latest GTteam.

I should have updated the thread. My packet loss seemed to just disappear 2-3 days later and my web browsing, 360 and PS3 are all like greased lightning again.

I left a ticket open but do not expect them to tell me what happened for that 2-3 week period to be honest, but I have left my graphs etc with them.

First thing to test really would be pings to some popular servers to see if you are having general problems or specific problems to your console(s) (BBC, apple, google, any gaming servers you know etc).

I have the same router as you, but not the DGteam firmware.

I am on FastPath and a 3DB SNR margin, with a static IP address, with an MTU of 1500.

Do you actually get kicked from GTA or from PSN altogether? Can you re-connect straightaway or not?

Im with O2, and I do tend to play SF2 HD online most evenings on PSN. I would say in the past month, about 1 in 3 times I will get signed out for some unknown reason. Sometimes I can sign straight back in but once connecting to a game I will be signed back out again. Most the times its fine, but there is definately a noticeable problem.

SF2 problem. Happened to me before as well. So many bigs and glitches like this :(

Anyone with O2 or Be problems paste what DNS servers are using here.
