Any Be* or O2 users getting disconnected from PSN in evenings?

I have not had any issues with Be for months, but now I find my PSN is signing out in evenings. I know enough about my network and equipment etc to isolate it to be ISP end imo. Just need to see/prove other users are having this.

As soon as it gives me message saying "you have been signed out yada yada" I can normally sign straight back in.

First I thought it was the DNS servers, then I thought congestion. Changing DNS servers works (I think) but I ain't got time to sit connected all day long to verify!!

So please post here if you are with Be or O2 and getting disconnected from PSN, and indeed if you have fixed the problem etc.

Unless you have a PS3 and are on one of the above ISPs at the moment, please don't reply to this thread.

I've put this down to PSN being PSN.

Nothing wrong that I can find, and it happens at a couple of friends house near by (one is on Virgin cable the other...NTL?) at night.

i am on Be and i was also online last night for about two hours without any problems using the 94.192.119.254/253 dns

I am with Be and have set my PS3 to use OpenDNS servers. Not had any trouble with PSN, just the Resistance 2 servers. :D

Be are currently doing maintenance at some exchanges. I had about a week of it, it's fine again now though. There was an email from Be about the work a couple of weeks ago...

I've had those problems on Be for a couple of weeks.. with the added bonus of hardly being able to connect to or host COD4/COD5 games for whatever reason, related or not. I have been with Be and also had it installed at my folks house for nearly 2 years now. The first year was excellent but the quality of service and support has been going steadily downhill this last year in my experience at least.

I think I am getting a lot of packet loss, I am doing some tests to see where the problem lies. My end or Be. Could be congestion but my Exchange was upgraded this morning and I have not noticed a difference.

The play a game in online co-op per chance? lol

I sometimes get signed out of PSN, but i find it is if i am playing a game that isn't actively using it. It mostly happens when playing say rock band 2.

I am with Be, i had problems until i switched to OpenDNS (by your recommendation iirc), since then no problems at all.

Sadly it's not a DNS issue for me (1st thing I checked!!)

ping times and responses to sites services have dropped dramatically in last few weeks, but only bad enough to affect connectivity to sites and services in the last week.

Doing some checks today to try and isolate/fix the problem.

Thanks for everyone's input into this thread btw (was gonna post in networks section, but felt this was gaming specific at the time, which it turns out not to be!!)

I think i get this, but because i can sign back in its not much of a problem.

Then again, i dont actually play online

Have you contacted BE? Ive always found them very helpful, and respond to my question within a hour or so...

Yes, they seem clueless with regards to PS3 connectivity, suggesting irrelevant/incorrect advice. Hence, why I turned to the smart arses here instead :)

Did this sort itself rp? I've just gone back through my email to find the relevant one. Apparently the 'transit links' were being worked on, which should have been finished on the 17th, and there were upgrades to Marylebone, Norbury, Kidbrooke, Guildford, Newington and Dunfermline exchanges (amongst others, but those are the ones that the email notes).

It also says that potential disruption could continue up to the end of this (last) week, so hopefully all is resolved and well now!
