Had this exact bike, not mine but exactly the same. Chromed, oversized pegs and weighed a tonne :D Cost upwards of £350 iirc correctly back when I got it which must be almost 10 years ago now.

Decided on what your going to paint it with yet Twenty mac? I reckon a good powder coat would look the business :)

yeah powder coat would look ace, but im going budget on this project so im just gonna stick with spraypaints and some clear coats to finish it off. should look tidy when im done, i might paint tomorrow if i can get any paint.

Good luck with the Diamondback... I had that exact bike in my teens and it got a bit rusty, the ****er made me facegrind the road a couple of times cus of the chain locking up for at the most god random time. Yeaaaa no one told me to avoid a rusty chain :@

Old school cranks aint that much of a bitch tbh. Pedals off, lockring off with an adjustable spanner, know the big cone thing out with a flathead then go get friendly with your local bike shops press!

if only it was so straight forward

i cant remember one time where i havent just hammered the hell out of it all with a hammer and screwdriver :D. including the locknuts

Ha does anyone know the best way to brake a chain ?

I just want to get it off for paint, and i'll be buying a new one anyway.

I havent got that bloody special tool you need.

had a Bob Haro freestyler back in the 80s,i then sold it as i was crap at the tricks and bought a raleigh burner(blue) with skyway wheels

Pair of bolt cutters or an angle grinder.

Here's my bike which I sprayed:

I guess most people can hop right easier. So having the peg on the right and the drive on the left gives more clearance.

I ride pegs on my right side, so having my sprocket on the left decreases the chance of me snapping the chain if I mess up a grind on a ledge or something.

You can buy hubs that come in LHD or RHD, LHD is very commong among BMXers.
