The R9 290x will be a R9 290 bringing the build to £1280.

Comes with 2 x 4 Ruby Vouchers and BF4 with China Rising.

Opinions?

I would say for that money, buy the parts yourself, people here will give you a decent spec, and if your not comfortable building it yourself, ask for a member who lives closeby would be willing to come help you set it up and show you how it goes together etc.

Its a good PC but i just feel for that budget you can squeeze a lot better.

I don't know to what extent you can change pre-built rigs but ill tell you what i'd do (if it wasn't a pre-built)

Only get 8GB of RAM, 16GB is too much for Gaming, 8GB will be fine.

Get the 8320 instead of the 8350, cheaper and basically the same chip.

Get a different cooler, either the H80i or Tundra (240mm version, while its £85)

A 750w/850W PSU for Xfire later on.

Switch the case for something with better airflow, maybe a Ronin (if they ever re-appear)

Doomed do him a £1300 build if poss? im at work atm and to and from my desk a lot ;) im sure theres a member closeby who can come build it for him if he gives them cake!

Could you do me a build on the OC system builder mate? I unfortunately wouldn't feel confident building it myself nor expect someone to come and build it for me, I have no problem paying the extra money to OC and getting a 2 year warranty!

Spending £1300 and getting a 280x seems a bit ludicrous to me, surely sacrificing a custom cooled 290 for a 280x is where the AMD build is miles ahead.

Those 280x are beasts of a card, the 290 in the prebuilt i used was only listing the reference version and unless your going to mod it yourself or are happy with the noise is going to create then i would steer clear. It was an additional £55 for the Sapphire 290.

Besides you can drop a 2nd 280x into that build later and have better than single 290 performance.

This incidentally highlights the point i made about building it yourself, the components are covered under warranties anyhow and RMA regulations etc.

Plenty of videos and guides on youtube explaining how PC's are put together, and its actually quite fun and addictive building it yourself, also a good sense of achievement when its all up and working.

I remember not so long ago somebody asked this and posted back in a thread, kinder sure it was around the £80 mark, but that's a guess.

Im pretty sure it was £100+

They do stress test the pre-builts too..

What the mods have suggested in the past is giving them a ring and directing them to this thread and a certain spec.. :)

Then thewy can talk you through the cost of it.

They replied saying it depends on the cost of components.

So could someone please spec me a system for £1200 and I will send it to them and get it priced up!

Thanks

You were happy with AMD, this is fairly good.

Just checked your first post, seems good for the price.
