Any Cross over users here?

Not really.

I have tried it but it only really seems to work on the standard set of programs such as Office. The only use I can see for it is the specialist type Windows only software where there is no Mac equivalent. I tried it on one game and one application and it failed to work on both.

Parallels or Boot Camp are really the only two viable solutions at present although I expect (or more accurately hope) that CrossOver is developed further because out of all the methods it is the cheapest and most elegant, just not really workable at the moment.

Ok mate...

I dont really want to have have windows installed on my system

But I like to be able to use my Office 2003 on it which is for Windows.... As people been saying mac office 2004 not good... or should I wait for Mac office 2007?

Yeah, I tried using it on CS:Source like it claims it supports and it ran like a dog and always locked up. Boot camp for me!

I use NeoOffice for my office needs.

Agreed, you really do not need Office on a Mac. NeoOffice, Mariner Write and Calc or iWork (spreadsheet due in next version) are more than adequate for most office needs and are either free or much cheaper. I am proud to say there isn't a single M$ product on my Mac other than Flip4Mac for playing wmvs

Ok just that I like outlook 2003 and it junk filter.....

Or is there somthing for mac
Mail has a very good junk mail filter and you can set up hundreds of rules if you want to. Along with iCal all you need is already installed.

I may give crossover a trail. Since I already got office 2003 it be wise to use it as i like it all... if i install office 2003 will the outlook settings be the same format as what on xp the .pst file?

Office 2003 is fine! what are you on about - even though it's not a universal binary it still runs fine - better than the joke that is OO.org for Mac.

Should a shame about OO.org on the mac - on windows and linux it's amazing, such a let down on Mac!

tithcard made a slight error, you still not able to get it working in crossover?

Not tried crossover yet... Just seeing if anyone has used it yet with office. Before I go and try it..

I am about 70 percent happy with the macbook at the moment but not 100 percent. Think it cos I am so use to Windows and the wide range of support and software that windows have.

OOo.org is but NeoOffice is the much better OS X port of the suite. Have you tried that?

Oh My God it's Changed! a lot!

Thanks AJUK for pointing it out - no more bouncing back and forth to Windows for OO.Org which I love.

Just installed crossover for the first time and installing steam was a joyos moment!

Just downloading the half life 2 demo!

Hopefully it'll work well!

If the demo works well ill download all my steam games etc.

If i can get CS:S to work im selling my pc for good.
