Any CSS gamers in the North East?

This may seem daft but.....

If anyone lives north of Middlesbrough and plays CSS can you tell me what your ping averages and who your ISP is please.

I live in Northumberland and I am with Pipex. My ping in CSS is always 45-55. Almost everyone I play against has pings <25ms. Often less than 10ms.

I am trying to establish if its my ISP, distance from servers based in the south or my line which I will work out through elimination.

Im from Bishop Auckland, my pings simlar. I also have some friends in newcastle who ping around 50. I dont think our phone service is as good as further south : /
 
I am on Virgin in Newcastle and I get similar pings, there are only a very few servers I ping less than 30 to! This isnt just on CSS though.
 
I am from Newcastle and get 15ms pings.

I am with UK Online LLU Upto 8mb.

For some reason my first ping is always higher though, must be something to do with my router :confused:
 
Well with BF2 i can get pings of about 25-30 on some servers in the UK.
But if your looking for a new ISP i wouldn't advise BT, there capping port 80 between 4-11pm everyday and during that time torrents are about 5k up and down.
But during the same time port 20 is full speed :o
 
mboro and get about around 30 average on the teeside university 40 player servers

clans server i get 5 ping constantly , best in there

with ntl/virgin , highly recommend them

59 ping on speedtest.com mind :s
 
South shields. My clans server is based in london, and my ping is about 26ms. To american east coast servers its roughly 115ms. Im with Vigin 2Mb cable. Ping to bbc.co.uk gives avg 27ms.
 
AnastieByte do you have Interleaving on?

Those pings are very high to the jolt etc. Nothing to do with the game you are playing it seems.
I had Interleaving on my zen internet until last week when I requested it to be turned off. My pings have fallen dramatically and no pinging between 10 and 13ms to the above addresses.

Sunderland here, on virgin broadband

since the switchover my ping has been very low.
around 20 - 25 never above 30 really.

are your rates set up correct?
 
im from leeds and i get 41-46 ping in the net graph and im on 8meg, i used to get 25-27 ping when i was on 2meg, was crazy low ping, dont know what it is with 8meg, it gives high pings

Classic case of Interleaving, call them up and say you`d like interleaving to be switched off and you`ll be sorted in a few days.
