Hi guys,

Do any of you cycle at all? If so, how regularly and what type of riding do you do?

I'm interested in having a sunday cycle buddy to train with (road only), I'm in Surrey, around the Hampton Court area (kingston).

Would be nice to see how many other people do this too. :)

I do, but road bores me. Needs to be as technical, tight, uneven and downhill as possible, and preferably out in the middle of nowhere. :p

I ride to uni and back plus spend the odd day every week throwing myself round cannock chase off road nearly headbutted a tree last time though :o

Can I suggest www.bikeradar.com to find a riding buddy? You're far more likely to find someone there than on a site about overclocking PCs.

I personally don't use it, but then I ride MTB only. I occasionally commute on my bike, but that's only when I can be bothered dusting off the hardtail.

I ride to work and back, ive recvently been told of a shortcut, and its awsome, its offroad terain!

Dirt track, its hard going up the other side on the way to work, but on the way home, damn, when i get used to it, ill be using no brakes as opposed to slight breaking, it kicks ass... just at the bottom its full of water and crap so i have to slow down or get sprayed...

Summertime will be awsome on that road though.

I like riding... I like to get to the top of the otherside, makes me feel good about myself as it is actually too much to handle, it is too much of a hill, takes a good 10 mins to get up and id say its a good 60-80 angle... almost bloody verticle, in 1st gear my back wheel spins as i stand up and use my weight to do the peddling...

I like riding my bike though, but im bloody dangerous on it, i admit that, but i do what i can to get home fast.

Riding to and from work and college at the moment, cant get a lift to Glentress and Inners even though they are only an hour away:(

In the summer i'll be up there most of the time though.

I ride fast....not at the limit when around the public even though they think i'm a child killing yob....i ride past my limit on some trails though which ends in some funny crashes.

The best thing to do if you want to find people to ride with is to join a local club. They will normally organise a Sunday morning ride and then once you know a few people your can organise your own rides in the week as well. To find local clubs have a look on the British Cycling web site.

edit: beaten, must type faster :(

I ride road and mountains, both rock.

Anyone ride Swansea at all? If so say NOW... lol

Me. I've been slack since I passed my driving test and the weather started getting colder though. Was doing a lot of gower road riding over summer which was fun apart from the massive quantity of vehicles on the roads there. Need to go earlier but I'm allergic to getting out of bed. Also keep meaning to join the Swansea wheelers for a ride but haven't got round to it yet.

Before I was the victim of a RTA which trashed my road bike and injured my knee (still recuperating), I was cycling 200 miles a week on average. Mostly solo moderate to gentle rides with the goal of weight loss.

I also set my self a few personal challanges to enjoying cycling simply for the freedom it offers. Managed to get my first 100 mile ride in before the accident happened. Never did hit my target of Dartmouth and back (~120 miles I reckon).

In finding a riding partner, it would help to say what type of riding you like doing, what kind of distances / times, how fit you are, how skilled (if mountain biking) ect.

i try to ride when it is'nt raining about 20-50 miles 50/50 road and off road around the south of the isle of wight, might go for a night ride tonight actually :)
