Ive a hankering to play a tank game for some reason. Any recommendations? Last one I enjoyed was probably M1 Tank Platoon by Microprose, way back in the days of Pentium III stuff. :D

Can’t think of anything recent but what’s worth having a pop at?

Ta.

Are you looking for a full on tank game? - Battlefield 4 has some tank gameplay in the mix but if you are looking for something more tank focused with lots of different tanks, etc. and more detailed mechanics then it probably isn't a good option.

World of Tanks.

God no, just look at us raging at the game in the big thread :p

But we still play it :P personally after 7 years almost....

I'll give World of Tanks a go, our little lad has it on his Xbone. I'd prefer something that wasn't multiplayer though, more of a simulation or something with an SP campaign was what I had in mind. I played something years ago possibly on an old Playstation that had you running between hedgerows in Normandy to eliminate enemy tanks in a sort of war of attrition type deal but I cannot for the life of me recall what it was called.

Console and PC WOT are different games. Yes both have tanks and same name. Similarities end there.

As for more simulator, there is War Thunder, which is less arcade more simulator even on arcade mode battles. (let alone the simulator battles). But is multiplayer also.
After that pure simulator Battlefield Europe but that's MMO and haven't played for years, so I do not remember how you play as a tanker.

Think you will find console version is called World of Tanks Blitz and PC is World of Tanks. There are big differences as hinted above. World of Tanks Blitz is also on PC. I actually liked the latter for a while although I`m back on World of Warships again which is another kettle of fish.

Battlezone or Battlezone Combat commander ?

Ahh......didn't realise there was a difference between console and PC World of Tanks, cheers chaps. Battlezone might be a good shout, will have a look at that.

I don't know World of Tanks or any of the other titles in this thread.

Are we talking about the 2D turned-based tanks type games like Scorched Earth from the 90s? Worms and Angry Birds are very obvious examples of this type of game, but if you want tanks involved, then I recommend a game from portableapps.com called "A-Tanks". It's very similar to Scorched Earth. I'm also up for more suggestions :-)

u got but hert on wot aswell?
no there isnt any other tank game like wot, nothing

but it gets me thinking about a game called something like (wolf pack)u-boats, and you had to torpedo the merchant ships, it was also co-op.
cant think of the name tho

was an awesome game with co-op, (just cant think of the name of the game)

I would certainly try World of Tanks/Warthunder: Ground Forces as both are free to download and try and if you like them, nothing lost (except time and in future, patience).

Other options people have mentioned may work too, I used to love Scorched Earth, back in the day!
