Im after a 8800GTS, but there is a £40 difference between some models, take these for example.

640MB Palit 8800GTS PCI-E (x16), Mem 1600 MHz, GPU 500 MHz, 96 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI HDTV - £293

640MB Leadtek 8800GTS PCI-E (x16), Mem 1600 MHz, GPU 500 MHz, 96 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI HDTV - £327

640MB Gigabyte 8800GTS PCI-E (x16), Mem 500 MHz, GPU 1600 MHz, 96 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI-I HDTV - £327

640MB Gainward 8800GTS Bliss, PCI-E (x16), Mem 1600 MHz, GPU 500 MHz, 96 Streams, Dual DVI HDTV - £338

640MB BFG Technology 8800GTS PCI-E (x16), Mem 1600 MHz, GPU 500 MHz, 96 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI-I - £299

640MB Asus 8800GTS PCI-E (x16), Mem 1600 MHz, GPU 500 MHz, 96 Streams, 2 x Dual Link DVI-I HDTV - £328

...

Now to me they all look the same but would any out perform the other? (I dont intend to overclock the card). Obviously the Palit looks the most appealing due to the price but ive hardly heard of this make of card.

Thx, JD

They should all be the same from what i've heard!

Regarding which to choose - i would go with BFG for the titchy extra outlay as their lifetime warranty combined with their well regarded RMA system is hard to beat!

That warranty increases their resale value too! ;)

Memory brand, I know Gainward on the 7900GT and bliss 7900GT used Samsung and Infineon.
Also some boards are better than others.
I'm from US and I have a friend who runs a computer store, and for example he had bad experience from eVGA and XFX, but BFG was great.
Some boards are made in Malaysia other made in China, and other countries.
On good thing is try to find reviews, consumer reviews, forums, etc.
I had an eVGA, and it was bad, I had artifacts and I wanted to RMA and they say it was normal, I call the State Attorney office consumer protection and they told me eVGA has many complaints already, this was on 2002.
Now they offer "lifetime warranty" but I don't.
You can call their customer service and see how is the RMA policy and warranty.

I think the bit extra for a BFG would be better as Id rather spend that bit extra to cover myself with a better warranty if something goes wrong. It is a lot of money to be playing around with. :)

If you want the better warranty then get the BFG, but it makes no diff which card you get as they are all the same, they are all made at the same place, just when they come off the line they get the individual manufacturers stickers slapped on em. :)
