Hi

I am looking to try and make a little extension lead from this little connector
doesn't have to be very long, just long enough to reach

I think its the same (or very similar) to a connection to the motherboard on PCs (certainly in the olden days)

any ideas ?

Ah, that would be why then, similar use. Think melmac has the best advice, as you can measure it and match up the specs.

I think I'd just cut the cable and add in the required amount (only 4 wires), using heat shrink to cover up the joins personally

This. I think it would be a struggle to find a micro fit extension especially with the 4x1 connector as opposed to the more standard 2x2 version.

Looking around 3mm pitch is correct so the connector linked above from RS would do the trick. Be aware though that it requires pins and you'd have to do some crimping. Personally I would solder extensions as above but you could also use 2 pin wago connectors I suppose although it would take up more space and not look as nice.

Interesting device, I've not heard of them before. I was initially terrified when you said 'Lipo4' but I think you mean LiFePO4 which is much less scary :)
