Notice the local shop is now offering this for parcel delivery? Anyone tried them?
Reliability etc.

OK I won't bother then :p
Any recommendations for a courier that is reliable and doesn't cost stupid amounts of money?

Dreadful - we call them My Herpes. Your package will eventually turn up, but you will have absolutely no idea on what day it might be :/

Used them for something I sold on the MM a few months ago, seemed okay. Wasn't quick (but then it was cheap) but it got there.

i work for them and have used them.

couriers have a couple of days to deliver your parcel, i think 3 days. if you are in an area where they only have 1 or two deliveries they may carry it over to the next day for when they have more in that area. they are self employed so manage their own stuff.

i used the myhermes a couple of times and all have been delivered within 3 days including pickup day.

just package your item well and it will be fine and fully trackable. some people send stuff back in stupid packaging and wonder why it gets broken, ive seen tvs with just a bin bag over them, 50+ cds for music magpie send back in a bin bag, full computer towers with just the label stuck on the case.

It's basically people who live in your area delivering parcels in their own cars etc so obviously the service will depend on the "agents" in your area.

I believe QVC use them? my missus had loads of qvc stuff go missing but thankfully qvc always send another out

I always over do it :D

I stick stuff in a box surrounded by bubble wrap (pound shops sell it)
Use uber strong cloth tape to tape over all the joints in the box.
stick a binbag over the box and cloth tape it on securely.

But at least whatever I send is almost waterproof and bash proof! probably a ball ache for whoever has to unwrap them lmfao

Never had a problem with them, like most couriers they are self employed and it's pot luck as to who you get.

They are cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. Never had a bad experience but I know a few people who had bad service from them.

I sent a graphics card to a friend via MyHermes (£3.50 vs RM's £11.90).

It arrived on time and intact so good from my point of view.

As with pretty much all couriers it all depends on where you live and the driver that covers your area.

Very bad. I bought a £280 graphics card off an ocuk member. It was delivered to number 19, but on a completely different street. Luckily for me, they bought it round.

Absolutely disgusting, as bad as Yodel.

I ordered a camera lens, the seller dispatched it via myHermes, a week later it hasn't arrived and they claimed they tried to deliver 3 times, which is rubbish because I was in all the time.

Lesson learned, I'm avoiding anyone who uses Yodel/myHermes.

I use them for my eBay business and sent over a hundred parcels an *touch wood* they have delivered all of them on time without any issues

I've used them a few times for bit's I've sold on eBay.

No problems to be honest. Drop off shop is 2 minutes away and saves me having to wait in.

We use them a lot without too many problems. They are slow and we have a couple of parcels go missing but they aren't so bad. One thing they do though is lie when you ask where a parcel is and that is something I really don't like.
